Eight groups of tightly spaced concentric circles, largest having seven circles with outer D c. 0.5m. (OKR 1968, 62).

On the W edge of the Blackstairs mountain range. Enclosing the summit of a prominent hill (OD 235m) with extensive views over the valley of the River Barrow to the W and the Blackstairs are visible on the horizon to the N, E and S (Redmond 2020, 37). A large enclosure (diam. c. 75m N-S; c. 80m E-W) defined along the NW sector by a grass-covered bank (overall Wth 5.6m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 1.2m) of earth and stones, including several large boulders, several standing upright. A detailed survey of the enclosure was carried out by Redmond (2020, 37-41) and the resulting digital elevation model (ibid. fig. 8, 41), clearly shows the full extent of the monument. Rock art (CW023-013---) is to be found c. 130m NW of the hilltop enclosure, on an earth-fast boulder. It is decorated with eight groups of concentric circles (Hughes 1968, 62-3). In low-lying very boggy terrain under rough pasture with rushes and gorse. The view is impeded by a hill immediately to the N, is dominated by the Blackstairs Mountains to the E and there is an extensive view to the S. The long axis of the standing stone points towards a gap in the Blackstairs Mountains to the SSE. A granite standing stone (H 1.3m) aligned NW-SE. It is roughly rectangular in plan, (NE L 1.05m; SE L 0.55m; SW L 0.95m; NW L 0.3m) narrowing towards the NW. The stone tapers towards the rounded-top (SW L at top 0.6m). Built into a field fence near the summit of an elevated ridge with good views of Mount Leinster to the NE and the western flanks of the Blackstairs Mountains to the S and SE. A granite boulder set on edge (L 1.15m; Wth 0.8m) with 12 cup marks (average diam. 4cm; average D 1cm), 5 of which are enclosed by circles (diam. 12 - 14cm) and a further three with probable traces of enclosing circles. Sitting alongside a field fence, on a gentle SE facing slope with good views of the Blackstairs to the SE, and Mount Leinster and Knockroe to the NE. A small granite boulder (L 0.72m; Wth 0.35m; T 0.2m) with 22 cup marks (average diam. 4cm; D 0.5cm - 2cm) visible on one flat surface. The surface is also scored with plough marks, indicating that the stone was originally a low-level, recumbent slab. Original location unknown.
