Widely spaced replacement top-hung timber casement windows. Horizontal attic windows below eaves to side elevations, with historic multipane sash window to north side. Central elliptical-headed entrance, with historic shallow spoked fanlight over replacement timber panelled door. Replacement timber garage door to single-storey lean-to. Interior shallow hall space with single-flight stairs arranged parallel to main elevation, stairs continue into attic space. Bounded to roadside on three sides by cast-iron railings having anthemion finials on low profiled stone plinth wall, with double-leaf decorative cast-iron gates flanked by tall octagonal-profile piers with pointed profiled caps, corners marked by similar posts. Double-leaf forged-iron yard gates to north of house in tall square-profile stone piers. Formerly rendered brick walls in English garden wall bond on rubble stone base visible to rear, vestiges of lime render remaining. Two-over-two timber sash windows with brick flat-arch heads and stone sills. Semi-elliptical arch to eastern bay, reduced in size historically to form square-headed opwning with display window to side of four-panelled door. Timber sheeted rear door. Detached Tudor Gothic two-bay single-storey gate lodge, built 1837, having gabled projecting porch to entrance front, single-storey return with extension to rear. Pitched slate roof with sandstone clay tiles, centrally positioned stone and brick chimneystack, cast-iron rainwater goods to original structure and part of extension. Oversailing eaves with timber soffit on paired timber brackets having timber wave and foil open decorative bargeboard to road-facing gable, recent timber barges to porch. Squared coursed rubble stone walls, with dresses limestone quoins, rock-faced ashlar to porch with bevelled sandstone plinth. Rubble stone walls with brick quoins to return. Crenellated canted bay window to east elevation with stone weathering to roof under blank shield surmounted by spur crest of Saunderson family. Metal lattice windows with chamfered sandstone surrounds and mullions, carved sandstone Tudor hoods. Recent timber casement windows to extension. Replacement timber boarded door to entrance, with stone-framed vent opening above door.
