Marked on all OS eds. Large irregular boulder (H 1.1m; dims. 1.15m x 0.76m) orientated E-W. A hole has been cut into the top of the stone to hold a wooden post which forms part of the field boundary. The stone was used as an altar during the Penal times and two apparently natural depressions in its upper surface were used to hold the water and wine (local information). The greater part of the bank has been modified and incorporated into the field boundary. Slight traces are identifiable from ENE-NNE. Original entrance not recognisable. Sited on a slight rise in undulating land. This monument, surrounded by a tree-ring, consists of a ruined gallery flanked by outer-walling around which there are traces of a mound measuring 11m by 10m. A gallery, now 3.5m long, narrows from 1.5m wide at SW to 1.35m at NE. A single slab covers all but its NE end. About 2m W of its more northerly side there is a single facade-stone. Just beyond the S side of the gallery there are three outer wall stones and another 2.5m W of these. There are two outer wall stones, 5m apart, at N. Sited immediately S of the highest point of a prominent drumlin hill. Small, circular, flat-topped mound of earth and stone (int. diam. 7.5m NNW-SSE) with the remains of a kerb of low stones about the perimeter of the summit. The mound is enclosed by a narrow, well-defined bank of earth and stone with narrow, deep, internal fosse. The bank has been removed from SW-W probably in relatively modern times. Of the kerbstones, fifteen remain in position; four at SSE and the remaining ten from SW-NNW. Slightly raised circular area (int. dims. 11.8m NE-SW; 10.9m NW-SE) defined by sixteen squat irregularly shaped boulders. There is a large break in the circle from NE-E-ESE and a smaller one from W-WNW-NW. There is an isolated boulder c. 2m SSW of the circle and a second stone within the perimeter at E. Detached four-bay single-storey lobby-entry vernacular former farmhouse, built c.1800, with windbreak entrance. Now in use as outbuilding. Pitched corrugated-metal roof, brick chimneystack. Random coursed squared rubble-stone walls, rendered and lime-washed to front. Timber lintels and stone sills with remains of one-over-one and two-over-two timber sash windows. Timber sheeted doors. Elongated outbuilding to north-west with pitched corrugated metal roof, lime-washed rubble-stone walls with battered rubble-stone buttresses. Timber lintels above timber sheeted doors. Rubble-stone boundary walls with mix of stone and mortar cappings, having square-profile piers with pyramid cappings. Freestanding Gothic-Revival Roman Catholic church, built 1868, having five-bay double-height nave with lean-to aisles behind single storey narthex to west connecting to truncated bell tower to north, sacristy to east end of south aisle, single storey gabled transepts. Pitched slate roof altered to have oversailing eaves and verges with uPVC soffit, clay ridge tiles, stone crucifixes to gables, uPVC rainwater goods. Flat roof to bell tower with bell mounted above. Coursed squared rock-faced sandstone walls, smooth limestone course at window level, bevelled plinth, buttresses to nave gables. Yellow sandstone dressing to openings. Rose window to west gable with trefoil arches on radiating colonettes. Entrance door below in pointed arch supported on colonettes with foliate capitals, hood moulding over with foliate labels and banded relieving arch, blind oculus to tympanum over segmental headed replacement door. Impost extends over flanking pointed recesses with foliate colonettes framing miniature lancets in wide sandstone surrounds, motif continues as three-bay arcade to flanking narthex. Single and paired trefoil and quatrefoil clerestorey windows to nave. Lancet windows to aisles in groups of two and threes. Large pointed arch plate tracery to chancel end with hood moulding and relieving arch composed of rose window with mmultifoil centre in ring or roundels over lancet arcade. Rose window to north transept, small quatrefoil to south transept. Segmental-headed door to north of tower in pointed arch surround. Pointed segmental arch to sacristy door to east. Leaded windows and banded stone relieving arches. Interior faceted ceiling above nave and as pointed vault above chancel, all subdivided with timber profiles. Timber arches between bays resting on corbels in nave and on colonettes with corbels above chancel. Compartmented lean-to ceiling to aisles with trusses supported on decorative corbels. Colonettes between to paired clerestorey openings over pointed arcade to sides of nave with stepped and profiled arch soffits resting on squat scagliola columns with foliate capitals. Square-profile piers to sides of chancel. Timber gallery and access stairs, quatrefoil openings in balustrade. White marble facing to steps. Recent timber confessionals to end of south-west aisle. Graveyard surrounding church. Rubble-stone boundary walls with cut stone copings. - The Presbytery, presbytery/parochial/curate's house, 1860–1880, Regional interest, registry number 40401309, https://www.buildingsofireland.ie/niah/search.jsp?type=record&county=CV®no=40401309. Detached L-plan three-bay two-storey former presbytery, built c.1870, with single-storey porch, two-bay side elevation, lower return to rear. Now in use as private dwelling. Hipped slate roofs with clay ridge tiles, pair of yellow-brick profiled chimneystacks flanking centre bay, pressed-metal rainwater goods, raised section in roof to return. Roughcast rendered walls over smooth plinth, with block-and-start quoins and profiled eaves cornice, details replicated in porch. Segmental-arched window openings to first-floor, square-headed window openings to ground floor, all having profiled surrounds, replacement timber sashes, and stone sills. Profiled architrave to front door in side of porch. Detached two-storey stone outbuilding with pitched slate roof to north. Rendered masonry boundary walls with regular spaced square-profile piers.
