A straight scarp (Wth 5m; L 4.5m; H 1.5m) from E to S may be natural and there is no stone spread along here. A gap at W (Wth 1.2m) has a large stone on its N side possibly marking an entrance. A second gap at SW may not be original. An internal subdivision (10.5m E-W; 4.1m N-S) inside the N perimeter is defined by a stone spread (Wth 1.5m). In a low-lying position in undulating landscape with reclaimed pasture to the S and pavement and scrub to the N and E, with a slight drop to the W. Within an extensive field system (CL009-059001-). Hachured on the 1840 and 1916 OS 6-inch maps. Classified as a ‘Enclosure’ on the RMP (1996). A circular area (est. dims. 31.3m E-W; 30.5m N-S) defined by a stone spread (Wth 5.5; H 0.6-1m), overgrown from S to NW. The original inner wall-face is visible from NE to E and comprises similar stones with a flush inner face (Wall Wth at W 2.2m). The outer wall-face is visible from W to SE comprising one or two courses of horizontally laid stones (L c. 0.8m; Wth 0.3m; H 0.4m). There is an upright stone at the SE and an entrance gap at the S (Wth 1.4m). There are two house sites in the interior, one W of centre (CL016-020039-) and one in the NW quadrant (CL016-020040-). Inside the N perimeter, an irregular enclosed area (L 3m N-S; Wth 2.4m E-W) is defined by a stone spread (Wth 2.5-3m). Drystone walls have been built outside the outer wall-face from S to W. A circular area (ext. dims. 25.15m N-S; 23.5m E-W) defined by a spread of stones (Wth 4.3-6.3m; int. H 0.5-1m; ext. H. 1-1.5m) and overgrown with dense scrub on the perimeter and in the interior particularly at S and W. The outer face of the original wall can be traced virtually all the way around but is particularly well built at the NE-SE, SSE-SSW and W-NW where it consists of horizontally laid stones (dims. 0.3-0.8m). A prominent gap in the SSE is likely for animal access. There is a pit to the S of the centre (L 2.4m E-W; Wth 1.3m N-S; D 0.5m) and three later enclosures in the E (int. dims. 5.4m N-S; 3.2m E-W), S (int. dims. c. 5m E-W; c. 2.5m N-S), and W (int. dims. 4.5m N-S; 2.8m E-W).
