Toward the bottom of a S-facing slope in pasture. Hachured on the OS 25-inch plan (1897) where it is recorded as a raised D-shaped area (est. diam. c. 33m NW-SE) with a straight side along the N (est. L c. 29m) along the base of which, outside to N, a later field boundary wall runs. Recorded similarly on the later, Cassini edition (1920) of the OS 6-inch map. Not visible at ground level when inspected in 1999, but traces of a scarp can be seen in satellite imagery (MapGenie Digital Globe 2011-13; MapGenie 2013-18) from SE-S-SW. Depicted on the first edition (1842) of the OS 6-inch map as the north-eastern two-thirds (from W-N-SE) of a ringfort with the south-western third (from SE-S-W) truncated by a later field boundary running NW-SE. Hachured on the later OS 25-inch plan (1897) and Cassini edition (1920) of the OS 6-inch map as a curving scarp from W-N-E defining – along with a later field boundary from E-S-W - a roughly circular area (est. diam. c. 35m) enclosed by later field boundaries from E-S-W. Shopfront comprising timber pilasters flanking tripartite fixed window and timber panelled doors with overlights, having fascia, marbleised lettering and cornice above. Timber panelled door with overlight to right hand side. Timber sliding sash windows with stone sills. Steps leading to entrance door. Stone kerbing to footpath. Attached single-bay single-storey lean-to outbuilding to left.

Round-headed door opening having cut-granite Gibbsian door surround with fluted keystone. Timber panelled and glazed double leaf doors with radial fanlight. Timber sliding sash window. Timber casement windows to dormers. Cobbled yard to rear. Detached four-bay two-storey rubble stone coach house with dormer attic, built c. 1790, having lunette window openings to first floor. Extensively renovated and subdivided, c. 1995, to accommodate use as apartments. Remains of detached single-bay two-storey rubble stone building, now in ruins. Cut-stone gate piers with obelisk pinnacles.
