O’Donovan listed ‘Lis-Callooragh in the Townland of Callooragh’ among ‘some small burial places for children’ in the parish of Kilmanaheen (Comber 1997, 105). Classified as a burial ground in the RMP (1996). A sub-rectangular shaped enclosure (22m N-S) is defined by a gentle scarp (H 0.25-1.15m) enclosing an irregularly shaped raised area (13m N-S; 12m E-W). The scarp is lowest to the W and highest at the E with indistinct edges. The raised interior slopes gently down to SE and has c. 150 undressed stone grave-markers (av. dims. L 0.4m; Wth 0.4m; T 0.15m).
