In pasture on a ridge aligned E-W with excellent views in all directions. Hachured on the 1840 OS 6-inch map. A ring-barrow (diam. 8.5m) defined by an earthen scarp (H 0.35-1.1m) surviving from NE to NW and truncated to the N by a field boundary. The outer edge is difficult to distinguish from the natural hillslope. The interior (diam. 5m) is slightly dished (D 0.25m). Compiled by: Mary Tunney and Eve Campbell Date of upload: 15 August 2023 - CL015-127: Enclosure, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CCL015-127----. In pasture on the top of a ridge aligned E-W with wet ground to the E and SE and bordered by a conifer plantation to the N, with good views in all directions. Depicted as a curving field boundary on the 1840 and 1916 OS 6-inch maps. A subcircular enclosure (65m N-S; 63m E-W) defined by a drystone wall (H 1.8m; Wth 1.1m) from W to S (angled at NE) and by a scarp (H 0.5m) from S to W. A gap at E (Wth 8m) appears to be modern. A few large blocks in the foundation suggest it may be the remains of a cashel. The interior slopes down to the SE. It is bisected by a modern field wall and is overgrown along the perimeter. Compiled by: Mary Tunney and Eve Campbell Date of upload: 29 October 2025 - CL016-064: Water mill - unclassified, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CCL016-064----. Near the fast flowing Ballymacravan River between Lickeen Lough and Cloonomra Lough and to the W of the reservoir and pumping station. Depicted on the on the Down Survey barony map of Corcomroe (1658-9) (downsurvey.tcd.ie) as a mill with a waterwheel on the shore of Lickeen Lough and labelled simply ‘a mill’. Named ‘Corn & Tuck Mill’ in the 1840 OS 6-inch map. A well-built but overgrown and partially collapsed wall incorporated into a later field boundary is the only portion of the old mill to survive. A parcel is the land of a title, not an address. The owner's name is in the Land Registry of Tailte Éireann: a copy of the folio can be ordered on landdirect.ie, for a fee; this site names no owner. A price is the price recorded for a past sale, not a valuation.
