On a cliff edge, with a ravine to the W, in dense scrub. Hachured on the 1840 and 1916 eds. of the OS 6-inch maps. Listed as ‘enclosure’ in the RMP (1996). Referred to by Westropp (1905, 211) simply as ‘a smaller caher’. A circular cashel (ext. dims. 35m N-S) defined by a stone spread (Wth 5-8m), which is most substantial from N to E; virtually nothing survives at S where the outer wall-face has been rebuilt as a drystone field wall (H 0.5-1.5m). A wall width (3.3m) was discernible at N. A later field wall is visible in the interior. Another cashel (CL016-096----) is located c. 67m to the SW. A circular hollow area (diam. c. 30m) defined by the remnants of a drystone wall NW-SE. The S half is removed. On a shelf of karst limestone in rough pasture and scrub. A low circular grassed-over cairn (basal dims. 11.2m E-W; H 0.4m). Most of the cairn material has been removed but a number of kerbstones (L 0.5-1.8m; H 0.3-0.4m; Wth 0.25m) survive: three are visible between E and S, two at WSW and four between W and N. The kerbstone at E is dislodged and has fallen outwards and the other two are leaning outwards. Those at SW are flush with the interior. A cist (CL016-156002-) is exposed in the centre of the interior. The following image has been uploaded: CL016-156001-_01.jpg View of kerbstones in SE sector, from SE Compiled by: Olive Alcock and Lynda McCormack Date of upload: 5 August 2022 - CL016-156002: Cist, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CCL016-156002-. Within the centre of a cairn (CL016-156002-). This cist is defined by two parallel stones, one on the N side (L0.75m; Wth 0.05m) and one on the S side (L 1.1m; Wth 0.05m); both protrude just above the ground. While parallel, the stones, which are 0.85m apart, are not exactly opposite each other. A smaller stone is visible on both sides further to the W, it is unclear if the cist extended further in this direction.
