On a low rise in undulating pastureland and limestone pavement, within a large multiperiod field system (CL008-109001-). Listed as 'Potential site - aerial photo' in the RMP (1996). This subcircular cashel (int. diam. 24m) is defined by a double-faced wall (Wth 1.95m), the outer face of which survives intermittently to two/three courses. The inner wall-face is traceable from NNW-E and from S-SW. Where the wall-faces have collapsed the wall is 2-3m wide. From S-SW, at a distance of 2m from the cashel wall, a line of revetment on a scarp (H 1m) runs parallel to it. This may be part of an external skin or terrace that was built in order to support the cashel wall on the natural slope. Within the interior, there is a souterrain (CL008-013004-) in the NW sector and a children's burial ground (CL008-013005-) in the SE sector. Two other cashels (CL008-013002- and CL008-013006-) lie c. 30m to the S and c. 54m to the SW respectively, and there is an enclosure (CL008-013003-) c. 94m to the E. On a rise in undulating pastureland and outcropping limestone pavement and within a large multiperiod field system (CL008-109001-); a trackway runs outside it to the E. Hachured on the 1897 OS 25-inch plan and the 1920 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. This subcircular enclosure (int. dims. 25.2m N-S; 20.5m E-W) is defined by a bank of earth and stone (Wth 5m; max. int. H 0.25m; ext. H 1-2m); ntermittent upright slabs possibly mark an inner wall-face or revetment. The interior is slightly concave and slopes gently to the SE. There is a mound on the edge of the interior at SSE and several low piles of field-clearance rubble at SW. There are a number of cashels in the vicinity: CL008-013002- lies c. 71m to the SW, CL008-013001- c. 94m to the W, CL008-014---- c. 94m to the SSE and CL008-016002- c. 114m to the ENE. Situated in the NW sector of the interior of a cashel (CL008-013001-). This souterrain (L 14m) is defined by a line of parallel roof lintels, aligned NW-SE, that extend from the centre of the interior to the cashel wall at NW. It is inaccessible but in several places the drystone-walling of the passage is visible in gaps between the lintels. There is a children's burial ground (CL008-013005-) to the SE of it. Situated in the SE sector of the interior of a cashel (CL008-013001-), this possible children's burial ground comprises a circular area (diam. c. 9m) of rough ground and limestone rubble in which there are three parallel lines of upright limestone slabs (max. H 0.9m), oriented NW-SE. The lines are 1-1.4m apart. The slabs are larger than the grave-markers usually associated with a children’s burial ground suggesting they could also be the remains of a structure of some kind. There is a souterrain (CL008-013004-) immediately to the NW. The inner wall-face is visible intermittently, surviving up to two courses in height. The townland field boundary, oriented NW-SE, cuts across the limits of the SW quadrant of the interior; faint traces of a fosse and earthen bank are visible beside it. A number of cattle gaps cut through the wall. The wall-faces survive to two/three courses in height, although at W it is obscured by rubble and overgrowth. Several animal gaps cut through the wall.
