In dense hazel woodland in undulating, E-facing land. Hachured on the 1897 OS 25-inch plan and the 1920 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. Listed as ‘Enclosure’ in the RMP (1996). This densely overgrown and poorly preserved subcircular cashel (int. diam. 24.5m NE-SW; ext. diam. 36.5m NE-SW) is defined by a band of wall collapse (Wth 6m; H 0.6-0.8m) in which facing-stones can be seen very intermittently. There is a hut site (CL017-074002-) at the centre. A barely visible entrance (Wth 1.8m) is at the SW. There is a modern subrectangular cairn (L c. 6m; Wth c. 2m; H c. 1m) 6m to the SW of the cashel. Situated in the centre of a cashel (CL017-074----) and overgrown by trees. This circular hut site (int. diam. 3.9m; ext. diam. 11.4) is defined by wall collapse (Wth c. 4m; H 0.4m). In level but dense hazel woodland. Hachured on both the first (1842) and Cassini (1920) editions of the OS 6-inch map, and labelled ‘Cahermore’ on the latter. This densely overgrown and poorly preserved subcircular cashel (int. diam. 24.8m N-S; ext. diam. 37m N-S) is defined by a wide spread of wall collapse (Wth 5-7.5m; H 0.5-0.8m). From WSW-NW-NNE, a later drystone wall – the townland boundary between Killeen [Killinaboy Parish, Corrofin Electoral Division] and Coad - overlies the cashel wall. The interior contains is a house of indeterminate date (CL017-075002-) at centre. A second cashel (CL017-074----) also stands on the same townland boundary, c. 100m to the SSW. In the centre of a cashel (CL017-075----), this small rectangular house (int. dims. 4.3m N-S; c. 1.8m E-W) is defined by the inner face of a straight wall at the E and W, and at the N by a later drystone wall. On inspection in 1999 it was noted that the area (diam. c. 30m N-S; c. 30m E-W) had a bank at SW (Wth 4m; H -.8m) but it appeared to be spoil from clearing and contained cement blocks. A house and garden lie immediately to the N. On Google Earth (25 April 2021) it is evident that the area was cleared completely c. 2021 and a bank is evident from E to SW which may be part of the original perimeter.
