This carving is on a highly decorated window sill, now placed upside down over a window recess in the S wall of the nave of Rath church (CL025-084001-). The sill is decorated with foliage emanating from the mouth of an animal at the centre. The sheela-na-gig is in the same plastic style, dated to c. 1200 (Harbison 2000, 27), and is in a separate panel beside the interlace. The figure is small (H c. 0.2m), and the waist area is damaged, but the breasts are visible. The hands are entwined with stylized animals, and the legs are flexed. A graveslab (Wth 0.82m; H 0.43m; T 0.1m) with the following inscription in incised capital letters 'The tomb under this vault was built by Christopher the son of Brian MacMurrough O'Brien in the year of our Lord God 1697.' Placed upright on top of the remains of a side chapel built onto the S face of Rath church (CL025-084001-). A limestone slab (Wth 0.68m; H 0.64m; T 0.18m) with an inscription carved in Roman capitals in false relief with the letters IHS overhead. The inscription reads 'This chapel is built by Mor Hogan for a burial place for him and his posterity to whom God be merciful 1696'. The chapel (ext. dims. Wth 4.4m; L 4.68m) is filled in internally to the current wall height (1.1m) and there is an opening into an underground burial chamber under the memorial slab at ground level. Placed inside the S doorway of Rath church (CL025-084001-) and reused as a stoup. These are the remains of what would have been a free-standing font with a circular basin. The basin (diam. 0.34m; D 0.23m) has chamfered edges, sloping sides and a drain-hole. The font exterior is square (ext. dims. 0.43m x 0.43m) and bevels in on all sides to what must have been a central column. Just beneath the font in the doorway is another stone with a circular shallow hollow (diam. 0.13m) that would have formed part of the base. A D-shaped enclosure (26m E-W; 20m N-S) defined by a drystone wall (Wth 0.4-0.6m; H 0.8m) with a straight W side. Overgrown with blackthorn. The fields adjacent have been cleared and spoil has been dumped at W and N. A ringfort (CL025-086----) is 21m to the W.
