Door in 3rd floor of W gable gave access tomill via stone platform and cement bridge from modernized residential house to E. Floors no longer present. Wheel-pit (Wth 1.7m) houses cast-iron breastshot suspension waterwheel (diam. 4.9m). Shrouding inscribed with 'J. Steel and Sons, Vulcan Foundry, Cork'. Two pinion wheels powered line shafts within. Each line shaft powered two pairs of French burr millstones on 1st floor; stone spindles now in collapsed position on ground floor.Tall narrow lean-to addition to E. Added to N wall of mill is a similar gable-ended structure; roof and floors intact but in poor condition, numerous foundation blocks for machinery in ground floor and in small additions to N and NE but gearing and machinery removed.
