In pasture, on N edge of and above steep-sided stream valley. Depicted as penannular raised area (diam. c. 38m) defined by hachured scarp W->SE and by straight-sided cliff face on SW side on 1937 OS 6-inch map. Levelled; arc formed by low rise (max. int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.5m) survives to NW and N. Recorded by Bowman (1934, 416) as levelled fort in Jerh. Linehan's land, 'single-ramparted... diameter was about 30 yards'. In pasture, on SE-facing slope. Circular area (32m N-S) defined by earthen bank (int. H 0.2m; ext. H 1m) S->W, with external fosse; low rise (max. H 0.5m) W->N; narrow stone-faced bank N->ENE. Remainder of original bank replaced by two straight, narrow, stone-faced banks to E and SE. Second earthen bank (H 0.7m) runs immediately outside fosse S->W, incorporated into field fence system. Interior planted with deciduous trees and Scots Pine. Recorded by Bowman (1934, 415) as 'double rampart' fort on Mr Nash's land; interior platform c. 5ft higher than surrounding field and outer rampart 5ft H. In boggy ground, adjacent to well. Heavily eroded mound of burnt material (8.5m N-S; H 1.4m). Possibly the fulacht fiadh recorded by Bowman (1934, 416) on Mr Nash's land, from which the surface stones had been removed. In ringfort (CO023-032---). Bowman (1934, 416) noted 'in the northern and southern parts of the rampart, are two holes, 12ft wide at the top and 6ft deep. These were evidently souterrains'. Hollow cut into junction of interior with bank to N, may be one of these holes. Two other hollows excavated into external face of bank to S and NNE may be remains of lime kilns.
