In pasture, on an E-facing slope. According to Myler (1998, 115-16), the site of a burial ground, known locally as the 'Russian grave' is marked by a lone ash tree which is on the line of a levelled 'bank'. Stones piled against the N field boundary of the field may have been grave-markers (ibid.). At the centre of a pasture field, to the N of Drombrow Lake, in the valley of the Mealagh River. This standing stone (0.8m x 0.5m; H 0.92m) is roughly rectangular in plan and is orientated NNE-SSW. This monument was reported by Seamus Crowley, Mallow Field Club, who described it as a wedge-shaped promontory (32m N-S; 9m E-W at N and 33m E-W at S) on the south bank of the Mealagh River. The N end is raised (7m E-W; 8m N-S) with a deep wide trench on its S side and beyond this a further two bank-and-ditch entrenchments. The entire site is covered by natural woodland. Square-headed openings with two-over-two and one-over-one timber sliding sash and replacement timber casement windows. Square-headed door openings with replacement timber battened and timber glazed doors with overlights. Rubble limestone walls enclosing courtyard to rear (north). Outbuildings and ruined single-storey houses to rear (north).
