East-of-centre in graveyard (14575). Ruin of rectangular church (c. 18m E-W; c. 8m N-S), largely reduced to sod-covered foundations. Lower courses of E gable stand, ivy-covered; S wall has one standing portion in centre of E half (L 3m; H 1.2m), with collapsing external face held together by ivy. Interior covered with burial plots. Remains of parish church of Rahan, reported 'in ruins' in 1615, abandoned by 1694 (Brady 1863, vol. 2, 83); C of I parish church moved to new location (14700) at beginning of 19th century. Described as one of chief churches of Tuath Muighi Finne in Crichad an Chaoilli (Power 1932, 30). A church here listed in Papal Taxation of 1292 (Brady ibid.). WSW-ENE; c. 32m NNW-SSE) enclosed by earthen bank to S and W, stone wall to N, stone-faced earthen bank to E, all overgrown with trees or shrubs. Ruin of parish church of Rahan (14418) off-centre to E. On 1842 OS 6-inch map, graveyard is larger (c. 68m x 35m) with church at centre; appears to have been truncated to E and S by building of millrace and structures associated with Drumrahan House. In use; oldest headstone noted dated 1772, numerous low uninscribed gravemarkers; Brady (1863, vol. 2, 368) noted inscription on headstone here with date of 1667. Interior of church used for burial.
