In pasture, on higher ground above stream. Depicted as hachured square area (c. 45m x c. 45m) on 1842 OS 6-inch map; as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 25m) surrounded by fosse on 1905 and 1937 OS 6-inch maps. Site heavily overgrown; interior enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.4m), with external fosse (max. D 1.2m). Possible counterscarp bank survives to NW, as low wide bank. Entrance (Wth 1.2m) to NW; on S side of break, gap in line of fosse for short distance with steep drop down to stream c. 8-9m from base of bank. On elevated site, on W side of road, overlooking Ballygrady cross roads. Irregular-shaped graveyard (c. 50m N-S; c. 50m E-W), defined to S, W and NW by curving wall of sandstone; roadside wall to E largely collapsed; entrance gate piers on S side also much ruined. Interior overgrown and sloping down to S; vandalised vault in NE quadrant is only burial marker evident. No visible surface trace of C of I parish church of Kilbrin shown as rectangular structure in centre of graveyard on 1842 OS 6-inch map; Lewis (1837, vol. 2, 56) described this as 'a plain building with a square tower surmounted by a small spire; it was erected in 1788'; likely that graveyard not much older than this church. In deciduous plantation, c. 100m W of river. Oval mound of burnt material (7m N-S; 6.6m E-W; H 0.72m); slight indentation in S side. Drain running along NW side of site has possibly truncated mound; burnt material (D 0.6m) visible in section in drain. Redeposited burnt material noted in gap in field fence immediately N of site. - Lackeel House, house, 1810–1830, Regional interest, registry number 20901606, https://www.buildingsofireland.ie/niah/search.jsp?type=record&county=CO&regno=20901606. Detached three-bay two-storey house, built c. 1820, having two-bay single-storey extensions to rear with lean-to and flat roofs. Hipped slate roof with clay ridge tiles having rendered and replacement block chimneystacks, with some cast-iron rainwater goods. Coursed sandstone rubble walls with some red brick vent bricks to plinth. Square-headed window openings having sandstone voussoirs, tooled limestone sills and two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows with ogee sash horns and some timber panelled shutters internally. Round-headed door opening having render surround with square-profile Doric-style pilasters with plinths and moulded archivolt. Timber panelled door with cobweb fanlight having decorative surround. Outbuilding and cobbled yard to rear, having three-bay single-storey outbuilding with hipped slate roof, coursed sandstone rubble walls, square-headed windows and central elliptical-headed carrigae entrance with limestone voussoirs and double-leaf timber battened door. Recent entrance to west.
