In a fern-covered area, on the NW-facing slopes of a NE-SW ridge. This standing stone (1.55m x 0.35m; H 1.55m) is roughly triangular in section and is orientated NW-SE. The stone narrows as it rises to a pointed top. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). Date of upload: 22 December 2009 - CO150-065: Enclosure, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CCO150-065----. In pasture, on a NW-facing slope overlooking a valley to the N. A roughly circular area (9.6m N-S; 8m E-W), raised 0.6m in height above the outer ground level, is defined by the remains of a bank of earth and stone (Wth 1m; int. H 0.1-0.3m). The entrance is at W and is defined by two upright slabs, 1.1m apart. A slab and some stones protrude from the bank externally along the S arc. Ferns and briars cover the entire enclosure. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). Date of upload: 22 December 2009 - CO150-076: Enclosure, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CCO150-076----. In pasture, on an E-W hollow with views W to Knockomagh. A roughly oval area (7m N-S; 5.7m N-S) is defined by the remains of an earth and stone wall (T c. 1m; H 0.2-0.9m). The wall consists of an intermittent outer facing of large stones and an inner row of contiguous slabs with an infill of earth and small stones between them. Across the centre of the interior are an E-W slab (L 1.9m; H 0.4m; T 0.1m), a smaller N-S slab at right angles to its E end and a N-S slab (L 1.05; H 0.5m; T 0.1m) 1.6m to its E. The purpose of these slabs is not clear. Another slab set radially across the bank at S may mark a possible entrance, the bank being low at that point. The entire enclosure is heavily overgrown with ferns and briars. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). Date of upload: 22 December 2009 - CO150-081: Burnt mound, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CCO150-081----. A parcel is the land of a title, not an address. The owner's name is in the Land Registry of Tailte Éireann: a copy of the folio can be ordered on landdirect.ie, for a fee; this site names no owner. A price is the price recorded for a past sale, not a valuation.
