In undulating pasture, in a valley surrounded by low hills. In the 1930s a feature known as the 'Danes Hole' was recorded in this townland (SMCC). It was described as being 8-10 feet [2.4-3m] under the surface, with a straight corridor about 5 feet [1.52m] high covered over with stone and at either side extensions resembling small cells.
