Indicated on 1842 OS 6-inch map, as 'Water Ho.'; marked as 'in ruins' on 1902 OS 6-inch map. L-shaped in plan, SW arm longer than SE. Most of inner wall faces collapsed. Remains of 3 opes in external SE wall and 2 opes in external SW wall. NW pier of bridge butts onto E corner of house, suggesting an association between house and bridge. Large fireplace with wooden lintel in SW arm, divides area into two rooms; fireplace contains brick-lined oven (0.88m x 1.22m). Corner fireplace in S corner of L, and possible remains of another corner fireplace in N corner of NW arm. Springfield House (14849) on river bank opposite to SE. Hickey) extending into mound for c. 13ft., with mortared random-rubble side and lintelled stone roof are possibly remains of mill race. Foot bridge, erected c.1860, comprising five surviving spans of stone slabs resting on rubble stone piers, on north bank of Awbeg River, apparently formerly crossing width of river.
