A standing stone, roughly triangular in shape, and 1.68m high × 1.7m wide at base × 0.26m thick; NE-SW. Situated on low marshy ground on the S bank of the River Finn. Site was revisited in 2003 and described as the standing stone described above has been knocked and is now lying on its side. One large and two smaller pieces have been broken off it. Immediately adjacent at E is a smaller triangular-shaped stone (H 0.94m; Wth. at base 0.95m; T 0.26m) which may have acted as a buttress stone. It is surprising, given its size and location, that this second stone is not noted in the description in the Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. A description of the field antiquities of the County from the Mesolithic Period to the 17th century.' Compiled by: Brian Lacey with Eamon Cody, Claire Cotter, Judy Cuppage, Noel Dunne, Vincent Hurley, Celie O'Rahilly, Paul Walsh and Seán Ó Nualláin (Lifford: Donegal County Council, 1983). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated. A parcel is the land of a title, not an address. The owner's name is in the Land Registry of Tailte Éireann: a copy of the folio can be ordered on landdirect.ie, for a fee; this site names no owner. A price is the price recorded for a past sale, not a valuation.
