Internal Diam 14.6m E-W, 11.3m N-S. A subcircular area enclosed by a collapsed stone wall, a modern square structure is built of robbed stones on the E side. At the SE corner the beginnings of a modern wall runs off the cashel. A gap of 2.7m to the W seems to have been the original entrance. Rock outcrop has been incorporated in places in the cashel wall. The site is located on a bench of an E-W ridge with sparse rough vegetations. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. A description of the field antiquities of the County from the Mesolithic Period to the 17th century.' A cross-inscribed slab probably broken but now .68m in length and 0.33m at one end and 0.15m at the other. It is up to .06m thick. It is decorated on both sides (I) A single Latin cross with T-bar terminals. (II) Three smaller Latin crosses two of which have T-bar terminals. It now lies in front of a private house but originally came from an unknown location in the townland of Newtownburke (DG073-043). Detached four-bay single-storey vernacular house, built c.1850, having single-storey addition to rear. Marram grass thatched roof with wire mesh over, some canvas protection, and roped and pegged to stone pegs to eaves and gable, and with two rendered chimneystacks; flat felt roof to extension. Smooth lime-rendered walls. Square-headed openings with painted stone sills and two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows and timber battened door. Stone flag paving to front of house. Multiple-bay single-storey farm building adjacent, having pitched corrugated-asbestos roof and rubble stone walls.
