This record relates to the name 'Tetunny Church (Site of)' first recorded on the OS 25-inch plan (surveyed 1902). The source for the location of this OS representation has not been identified. No traces of an antiquity have been observed here and it seems more likely that such a church would have stood within the present circular enclosure, Tetunny Burial Ground (DG107-073001-), c. 100m to the S. It is most probable that this was an early ecclesiastical site although, apart from the shape, no remains are visible. To the SE was located Tetunny holy well now gone. (Ó Muirgheasa No. 10) The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. A description of the field antiquities of the County from the Mesolithic Period to the 17th century.' A circular masonry wall encloses Tetunny Burial Ground (DG107-073001-), in use until recently. It is most probable that this is an early ecclesiastical site although, apart from the shape, no remains are visible. It is located on the higher ground overlooking the Erne to the N. About 100m S on lower ground the site of Tetunny Church (DG107-073) is marked on the 2nd and 3rd editions of the OS 6-inch maps. No traces of an antiquity have been observed here and it seems more likely that such a church would have stood within the present circular enclosure. To the SE was located Tetunny holy well (DG108-002-) now gone. (Ó Muirgheasa No. 10) The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. In pasture, located on the narrow top of an E−W ridge providing good views over the surrounding undulating grassland, which tends to be damp and poorly drained. The ridge has steep N and S slopes, and more gradual slopes to E and W. At E the slope drops to a strip of lowlying ground bordering the banks of the River Erne. There is a burial ground (DG107-073001-) 470m to NNE on the banks of the river. This enclosure has been levelled, but the outline of a slightly raised circular area (c. 20m E−W; c. 17m N−S) defined on its perimeter by a slight scarp/undulation (H 0.4) can still be discerned. The enclosure spans almost the full N−S width of the ridge top. Described in 1946 as 'This is a hollow in a shelf of rock, filled by a small spring. It is on the south bank of the river, in the gorge above Cliff House, and close to Tetunny Graveyard (DG107-073001-). It is seldom visited now, but on the occasion of our visit there were a few strips of cloth tied to the bushes about the well, tokens of "rounds" paid there. The well is dedicated to St. Brighid. All the surroundings are entirely natural; there is no masonry or any artificial object there. The well is about twelve feet over the present level of the river; thus it will be completely covered by the new water level' (Corlett 2006, 67). Works at or in relation to a recorded monument need two months' written notice to the National Monuments Service (National Monuments (Amendment) Act 1994, section 12). ## Architectural heritage (National Inventory of Architectural Heritage) - Cliff Generating Station, hydroelectric power station, 1945–1960, Regional interest, registry number 40910782, https://www.buildingsofireland.ie/niah/search.jsp?type=record&county=DG®no=40910782. A parcel is the land of a title, not an address. The owner's name is in the Land Registry of Tailte Éireann: a copy of the folio can be ordered on landdirect.ie, for a fee; this site names no owner. A price is the price recorded for a past sale, not a valuation.
