A holy well known as Turas Boden no longer survives. It was situated beside the Culdaff River. (Ó Muirgheasa No. 103) There are now three steps to the "well" where it had once been. There is a tank built there now. This well dedicated to St. Buadan was once the site of a turas which no longer takes place. Described by Ó Muirgheasa in 1936 as 'At Culdaff there is a Holy Well to St. Buadan. His feast day is locally remembered as 22nd July. He is mentioned in all the martyrologies under this date as Mo Biu, or Biteus, and the glosses state that he was Abbot of Inis Cuscraigh, " in Ferann Duin," adds the Feilire of Aengus, and also that he was " son of Comgall" ' (Ó Muirgheasa 1936, 159). The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. A description of the field antiquities of the County from the Mesolithic Period to the 17th century.' - DG005-012: Burial ground, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CDG005-012----. Marked 'Ardmore Graveyard' on the 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch maps the site is said (Bonner 1972, 72) to mark the site of an early ecclesiastical foundation but there is no archaeological evidence to confirm this. There is no evidence of a church site wihtin this graveyard which may once have been part of the graveyard attached to the nearby Church of Ireland church located 75m to the NNW. The Church of Ireland church appears to have been built on the site of an earlier church (DG005-012001-) with graveyard to S and W of church which may originally have joined up with Ardmore Graveyard located 60m to the S of this graveyard. The earliest headstones in the graveyard around the Church of Ireland church date from the early 1700's. According to Bonner 'The original graveyard extended from Ardmore where there are the remains of the old burial ground. Across the road running through the village to where the church now stands. Date of upload: 22 September 2008 Excavation licence number 99E0083 Pre-development testing was carried out on 23 February 1999 in response to a condition of planning for a house extension to the north-east of an existing building at the south-east end of Culdaff village, on the Inishowen peninsula, Co. Donegal. On arrival on site, it was discovered that the foundations for the proposed development had already been excavated but were still open. Culdaff is the site of an early ecclesiastical site founded by St Buadan. No extant remains survive; however, a small graveyard called 'Ardmore graveyard', a short distance west-north-west of the development, may be part of the ecclesiastical site. The buildings adjacent to the development were constructed during the 20th century. Eleven foundation trenches were excavated by machine before this writer's arrival on site. They were 1.83-12.19m long, 0.9-1.4m wide and 1-1.4m deep. The stratigraphy revealed was the same over the entire area: topsoil mixed with fill, lying directly above bedrock. The bedrock was located at 0.9-1.4m below the surface. The only exception was the presence of the foundation of a recently demolished one-storey building in two of the trenches. This foundation was 0.3-0.4m wide and 0.5m thick. The trenches revealed nothing of archaeological significance. The topsoil/fill contained large quantities of ashes, modern pottery sherds including whiteware, and modern bottles. This site consisted of a backyard/garden that had been backfilled over the past 60-70 years with modern rubbish. An oval platform c. 2m above surrounding land, 40m E-W and 28m N-S. There is slight evidence for a bank at the E end and a very tentative suggestion of a fosse and outer bank at this end also. Detached two-storey four-bay outbuilding, built c. 1880, having external flight of steps to the east end of the front elevation (north) giving access to doorway at first floor level, and with single-storey whitewashed rubble stone shed attached to the west side of the front elevation. Modern extensions to the rear (south). Pitched natural slate roof with clayware ridge tiles, raised rendered gable copings, and cast-iron rainwater goods. Roughcast rendered and whitewashed rubble stone walls. Rendered finish to flight of external steps to front elevation. Square-headed window openings with three-over-three and one-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows. Square-headed door openings with battened timber doors at ground floor level, and double-leaf battened timber doors at first floor level. Sited to the rear of altered two-storey house to the west end of Culdaff. Site bounded to the east and west by concrete block and stone walls and to the south by a wire fence. Gateway to the north of site comprising a pair of rendered gate piers with wrought-iron flat-bar gates.

Attached end-of-terrace seven-bay two-storey house, built c. 1820. Later in use as a constabulary barracks c. 1890. Possibly a terrace of two or three houses, later combined. Now also in use as a public house (east end), with two-storey extension, single-storey shed and temporary smoking room to rear (south). Possibly formerly in use as a constabulary barracks, c. 1900. Pitched natural slate roof with clayware ridge tiles, projecting eaves course, three smooth rendered chimneystacks (one to either end and one offset to the west side of centre), and with cast-iron rainwater goods. Modern hipped slate canopy roof to public house front. Roughcast rendered walls over smooth rendered plinth course with rendered block-and-start quoins to the corner at the east end. Detached three-bay two-storey former miller’s house, built c. 1780, having remains of ruinous roofless two-storey former corn mill and later as a corn\flax threshing mill with waterwheel, adjoining to the west. Pitched natural slate roof with smooth rendered chimneystacks and raised rendered verges to the gable ends (east and west), projecting eaves course, and with surviving sections of cast-iron rainwater-goods. Roughcast rendered and whitewashed random rubble stone walls. Square-headed window openings with stone sills and with eight-over-eight and three-over-three pane horned timber sliding sash windows to first floor level, and eight-over-eight and four-over-four pane timber sliding sash windows to ground floor level; assortment of timber sash and casement windows to rear. Square-headed door openings with replacement battened timber doors with plain overlights. Attached six-bay two-storey former mill building to west, now roofless, having whitewashed random rubble walls, and square-headed window and door openings having random rubble stones relieving arches over timber lintels. Two single-bay single-storey gabled projections to the north elevation of former mill having pitched natural slate (east) and pitched corrugated-metal (west) roofs, rubble stone walls, and square-headed openings. Metal breasts hot waterwheel to the west elevation of mill formerly with timber paddles, now gone. Waterwheel set in rubble stone wheel pit with round-headed arched opening to the south allowing headrace in. Former mill pond to the south, now silted up. Remains of head race to the south and tailrace to the north (flowing in and out of the Culdaff River to the west). Located at end of long approach avenue from the north-east. Located to the south of the centre of Culdaff and adjacent to the east of the Culdaff River. Possible remains of ancillary building to the south-east (not investigated).
- Saint Buadan's Church (Culdaff), church/chapel, 1735–1830, Regional interest, registry number 40802006, https://www.buildingsofireland.ie/niah/search.jsp?type=record&county=DG&regno=40802006. Freestanding Church of Ireland church, built 1739 or 1747 and extended in 1828, comprising a two-bay nave and chancel to the east, four-stage\storey tower (on square-plan) to the west gable end (added c. 1828) having crenellated parapet and cut stone corner pinnacles, and with single-bay single-storey vestry attached to the north elevation. Pitched artificial slate roof with grey clayware ridge tiles, projecting cut stone eaves course, and with raised cut stone verges to the gable ends; slate roof to vestry. Roughcast rendered walls to main body of building over rubble stone construction with projecting plinth to base; roughcast rendered walls to tower with cut stone stringcourses delineating stages, and with cut stone cavetto cornice\moulding to parapet. Slate sundial on the south elevation, dated 1820. Squared snecked rubble stone masonry with tooled quoins to vestry. Shallow pointed-arch\Tudor-headed window openings to nave having chamfered ashlar surrounds and sills, timber Y-tracery, and with cast-iron quarry-glazed windows, shallow pointed-arch\Tudor-headed window openings to chancel having chamfered ashlar surrounds and sills, and with stained glass windows; shallow pointed-arch\Tudor-headed triple-light window opening to the chancel gable (east) having chamfered ashlar surrounds and sills, cast-iron quarry-glazed windows, and with timber intersecting tracery; square-headed window openings to tower at second stage level having cast-iron quarry-glazed windows; pointed-arch openings to tower at third-stage\belfry level having timber louvers; roundel openings to tower at fourth stage level. Pointed-arch door opening to south and north elevations of tower having timber panelled and with overlight with diamond-shaped timber lattice work. Timber pews, gallery supported on cast-iron columns, marble wall memorials, and plain ceiling with groin vaults to window heads. Set back from road in own grounds to the north side of the centre of Culdaff village. Graveyard to site with collection of mainly nineteenth-century and early twentieth-century gravemarkers of mainly upstanding type; cast-iron and wrought-iron railed enclosures to some grave plots. Commonwealth graves to site. Graveyard is bounded to the north, west and east by rubble stone boundary walls having rendered coping over. Gateway to north of graveyard comprising a pair of rubble stone gate piers (on square-plan) having pyramidal coping over, and with a pair of wrought-iron flat-bar gates. Roughcast rendered boundary walls to the road-frontage to the south having smooth rendered plinth course and smooth rendered coping over. Gateway to the south-west of site comprising a pair of smooth rendered ruled-and-lined gate piers (on square-plan) having wrought-iron gate.

Graveyard on sub-rectangular plan, c. 1650 to 1750, containing mainly recumbent gravemarkers. Possibly containing earlier fabric. Inscriptions to gravemarkers now illegible. Modern rubble stone grotto with Virgin Mary located to the south-west corner of site. Site bounded by hedge to the south and by rubble stone walls with rubble coping over to other boundaries; wall to the north whitewashed to exterior face. Gateway to the north-east corner of site comprising a pair of rendered and whitewashed gate piers (on square-plan) having pyramidal coping over, and with modern metal gate. Located to the south-east end of Culdaff.

Freestanding cast-iron water pump, erected 1908, comprising cylindrical shaft with horizontal banding, fluted spout, flat cap, and slender curved ‘cow-tail’ handle. Possibly originally with domed fluted cap with finial over, now removed. No longer in use. Set on a stone plinth with a cut stone runoff duct draining into a basin to the north. Pump covered by a slated pyramidal canopy supported on four metal posts. Metal plaque to site reading ‘Presented to the village of Culdaff by Mr and Mrs Young as a memorial of their golden wedding 1908’. Decorative spandrels to sign. Located on village Green to the east end of Culdaff.

Metal plaque to exterior of pier to the north. Pedestrian gateway adjacent to the north comprising roughcast rendered rubble stone gate pier (on square-plan) having cut stone coping over, and with wrought-iron gate; cut stone lintel over pedestrian gateway. Substantial sections of roughcast rendered demesne walls having projecting coping over to the north. Rendered boundary wall aligns south side of approach avenue of Culdaff House to the east, low rubble stone wall with gate piers aligning avenue to the north. Pitched slate roof with flat-roof to front porch, fixed half-dormer window and numerous cast-iron framed rooflights to south pitch; smooth rendered gable coping to east gable; roughcast rendered chimneystacks with smooth rendered cornice coping, one stack centrally placed to roof crest and one to either pitch of the roof; some surviving sections of cast-iron rainwater goods. Set back from road in extensive mature landscaped grounds to the east of Culdaff village with additional contemporary sheds and outbuilding interspersed throughout site. Located to the south of Culdaff House (see 40802011). Gateway to the south of house comprising a pair of ashlar gate piers (on square-plan) having wrought-iron gates. Cast-iron water pump to the east of site.

Detached single-bay single-storey former summer house associated with Culdaff House (see 40802011), built c. 1800, having canted front elevation (north). Now out of use with roof collapsed\removed. Roughcast rendered rubble stone walls. Round-headed window openings with cut stone sills, fittings now removed. Round-headed doorways to the centre of the front elevation (north) and the rear elevation (south) having cut stone thresholds, fittings now removed. Set back from road in an elevated site in extensive mature landscaped grounds to the north-east of Culdaff House (see 40802011) with extensive views over Culdaff Bay and the estuary of the Culdaff River to the north and to the north-east.
- Culdaff House, walled garden, 1780–1820, Regional interest, registry number 40802014, https://www.buildingsofireland.ie/niah/search.jsp?type=record&county=DG&regno=40802014. Walled garden complex associated with The Culdaff House (see 40802011), erected c. 1800, enclosed by rubble stone boundary walls. Trapezoidal in plan, with main entrance in the south-east corner, opening onto a driveway leading west toward Culdaff House. Now out of use or in use as pastureland. Most extant to the north and west where it survives up to three meters in height. Single-storey uncoursed rubble stone sheds built inside the wall to the north of the entrance. Several apple and fruit trees survive to interior. Located to the east of Culdaff House, in extensive mature demesne parkland grounds, and to the east of Culdaff. Surrounded by woodlands and with mature hardwood trees planted around the perimeter.

Detached three-bay single-storey former gate lodge associated with Culdaff House (see 40802011), dated 1826, having central projecting pedimented entrance porch to the main elevation (north-east) and single-storey flat-roofed extension to the rear (south-west). Now out of use. Hipped natural slate roof having overhanging projecting eaves with exposed rafter ends, central smooth rendered chimneystack with moulded rendered coping and terracotta pot, and with replacement rainwater goods. Roughcast rendered walls with chamfered tooled ashlar limestone block-and-start quoins to the corners. Square-headed window openings with tooled ashlar limestone surrounds and cambered lintels, and with remains of multi-paned timber casement windows. Central square-headed door opening to porch having tooled ashlar limestone surround surmounted by ashlar pediment with painted tympanum reading ‘ANNODOMINI 1826’, and with replacement battened timber door. Set back from road to the south-east of Culdaff House and to the south-east of Culdaff. Low concrete block wall and gate piers to front of lodge (north-east). Demesne gates (see 40902016) to south-east.
