The three editions of the OS 6-inch maps record 'Doonan Fort' here and O. Davies recorded a 'children's burial ground' at the same site. There is no trace of the 'Fort'. Two very ruined walls, both about 10m long, and at right angles, form a S and W side of what may have been a small enclosure. A face of rock on the N side may have served as a third side. The site is a mound of rock, uneven on top and much overgrown by trees and bushes set in undulating land suitable for grazing. A 'Fort' here would almost certainly have been stone built. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. A description of the field antiquities of the County from the Mesolithic Period to the 17th century.' A parcel is the land of a title, not an address. The owner's name is in the Land Registry of Tailte Éireann: a copy of the folio can be ordered on landdirect.ie, for a fee; this site names no owner. A price is the price recorded for a past sale, not a valuation.
