Located on a W-facing slope under rough pasture with views of Piperstown Hill to the N and Glenasmole to the SW. Two of five parallel lines of boulders described by Healy (1961, 117) survive. They comprise of closely set granite boulders (H 0.6-1.15m) placed on their long axis running NW-SE towards Piperstown Hill and the head of the Glenasmole-Glencree Valley. The lines are c. 20m apart and are probably the robbed remains of field walls of uncertain date. Known locally as the 'Shed Stone' this tomb is situated on the N bank of a stream at the head of Glenasmole valley. It comprises of an oblong boulder (L2.30m, Wth 1.90m; 0.75m) single chamber (int. dims. L 1.25m; Wth 0.9m-1.45m; H 1.35m) supported by two granite portal stones (H 1.08m and 0.55m respectively) and a backstone of granite that carries a massive capstone (L 2.1m; Wth 1.6m; D 0.6m).
