Situated within an artificial lake established to provide water for paper mills at Clondalkin. A round-topped mound with cairn material exposed around its perimeter. In the 19th century this site was described as a 'very perfect and remarkable mound nearly suirrounded by a deep boggy slough called Bog Larkin' (Ua Broin 1957, 48). Whitewashed rubble stone walls. Timber casement windows to ground floor, timber sash windows to first floor. Small timber door set in the central bay. Pitched slate roof with brick chimney stack to each gable end. Single-storey wing to the north with timber sash windows, and another single-storey wing with a pitched slate roof and large timber door to the south. Smaller whitewashed stone rubble outbuildings to the south and north-east with pitched corrugated-iron roofs and raised gables. Small oculus is set in the east gable of the southern building.
- Glenaraneen Mill Ponds, dam/reservoir/basin, 1800–1850, Regional interest, registry number 11218008, https://www.buildingsofireland.ie/niah/search.jsp?type=record&county=SC&regno=11218008. Large pair of interconnected former mill ponds/reservoirs, c.1825, on a watershed between hills, the northern one of which is now dry. Hill streams have been routed to fill the southern pond, which has been dammed with stone and turf banks in the south and which emptied into the northern pond, which is also dammed. The northern pond formerly drained north into the Swift Brook and supplied several mills, primarily the Swiftbrook Mill in Saggart.
