In level pastureland. Poorly preserved circular cashel (diam. c. 34m) defined by a collapsed drystone wall. A modern field wall overlies the enclosing element from W to N and borders it externally at E. At NE one course of wall-facing, composed of large boulders, is visible. On a S-facing slope in pastureland and tillage. Poorly preserved circular cashel (diam. c. 40m) defined by a collapsed drystone wall, which is overlain by a later field wall from N to NE. Elsewhere the enclosing element is heavily overgrown and obscured by field-clearance rubble. Modern gaps breach the wall at E (Wth 1m) and S (Wth 4m). A souterrain (GA113-068001-) lies in the NW quadrant of the interior. Immediately to the WSW of the cashel is an enclosure (GA113-068002-). Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 10 January 2017 - GA113-068002: Souterrain, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CGA113-068002-. In the NW quadrant of a cashel (GA113-068001-). When initially visited by the Survey in October 1982 this drystone-built L-shaped souterrain (L c. 14.8m) was partly accessible. It consisted of two passages which were separated from each other by an area of collapse. The shorter 1st passage (L 5.3m; Wth 2m) ran E-W and access to it was gained at its E end. Two jamb stones were evident towards the rear of the passage, beyond which the 2nd longer passage (L c. 9.5m; Wth 1.7m), running N-S, extended from its NW end. Here there was evidence of a possible creep. Access to the 2nd passage was not possible. However, some of its lintels were exposed on the ground surface and through a gap between two broken lintels it was possible to get a profile indicating the it was 1.72m wide and 0.9m high. On a revisit in 1992 the souterrain was completely inaccessible due to the dumping of rubbish within the interior of the cashel. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 10 January 2017 - GA113-068003: Enclosure, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CGA113-068003-. Immediately to the SW of a cashel (GA113-068001-). This roughly D-shaped enclosure (57m E-W; 54m N-S) is defined by two earth and stone banks and an intervening fosse. The outer bank and fosse are not visible along the N side. There is a causewayed entrance gap at S. Due to the presence of a large rubbish dump at NE, which obscures the monument, its exact relationship with the cashel is unclear. On SW-facing slope of a ridge. Poorly preserved almost circular cashel (24m N-S; 23m E-W) defined by a collapsed drystone wall. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 13 January 2017 - GA113-070: Ringfort - cashel, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CGA113-070----. In pastureland. Marked on the OS 1:2500 plan (surveyed 1912-16) as an irregularly shaped enclosure (c. 45m NE-SW) defined by hachures, overlain by a field boundary, which curve from from SW to NE; on the 1933 edition of the OS 6-inch map the hachures are only indicated from W to N. A number of outhouses lie immediately to the S. On inspection in October 1982 no visible surface trace survived. Current aerial imagery (Google 2019) indicates that a house has been built on its line at NNW and a large outbuilding occupies the interior. Compiled by: Olive Alcock Date of upload: 19 July 2019 - GA113-071: Cross, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CGA113-071----. In pastureland on the W side of the road, close to a T-junction. This plain squat thin limestone cross (H 1.08m; max. T 0.1m), cruciform in plan, is set on a small cairn (H 0.4m) beside a whitethorn bush. The solid cross-head (max. Wth 0.57m) has two stumpy arms, angled slightly upwards. Apart from a smooth finish on its E face, the cross is undecorated. Possibly of early Christian date. Crosses of somewhat similar shape are found on St MacDara's Island (see GA076-020008-) and Inchagoill (see GA110-023027-). It appears to be in its original position (SMR file, 1982). In level pastureland. When inspected in October 1979 this poorly preserved circular rath (diam. c. 30m) was defined by a substantial earth and stone bank that was faced in places, both internally and externally, with large stones. The interior was almost completely obscured by thorn bushes and briars and was subdivided by a NW-SE running field wall, and the remains of another wall at S (SMR file). On re-inspection in October 1982, the bank (Wth 2.5m; H 1m) was visible from W through N to E but only slight traces of the S half survived. A possible moated site lies c. 180m to the E.
