This cross-slab is built into the E face of a leacht or altar (GA005-027----). Described by Higgins (1987, ii, 313, no. 39) as a limestone slab (H 0.27m; Wth 0.32m; T 0.08-0.09m) bearing ‘three one-line Latin crosses, one large one and two smaller ones’. The two smaller crosses extend from beneath the arms of the larger one. Four notches were noted in the upper right-hand canton of the smaller cross right-hand cross. On S-facing slope of Slieve Dart in an area of scrub and rock outcrop; the site is now dissected by a boreen. According to Neary (1914, 126, no. 62), this was once 'the scene of a large pilgrimmage [sic.]'. Apart from the remains of 'two holy wells' (GA005-027004-, GA005-027005-) and an 'altar', he also noted 'some small sections of foundations about 3 ft. in diameter' which he believed marked the site of a 'church ... which ... stood E. by W. above the wells'. Only very faint traces of the latter are now visible in the undergrowth immediately E of a penitential station. This consists of a small crudely built U-shaped stone wall (2.5m by 2.2m) opening towards NW. The two holy wells lie close by to SE. To W, in an adjacent field on opposite side of the boreen, is the stone-built altar (L 2.4m, Wth 1.2m, H 0.9m) marked on OS 6-inch maps. It incorporates a cross-slab (Higgins 1987, 313, no. 39). Occupying the reputed site of 'Cappagh Church' (GA005-027002-) (Neary 1914, 126, no. 62). Two dried-up holy wells are visible: a spring well enclosed by a rectangular mortared stone wall (N-S 4m, E-W 1.6m) opening out to SE via a water channel, above which lies a small rectangular opening; the wall has collapsed at NW due to the growth of a tree. The second well, to W, is overgrown and enclosed by a drystone wall (NNE-SSW 1.7m) on W, N and E sides, it opens out to S; a single step gives access to it. Poorly preserved circular rath (D 32m) defined by an earthen bank that may have been revetted with stone. The E half of the monument is obscured by overgrowth. Neary (1914, 117, no. 60) classified it as 'A circular, earthen fort' enclosed by a bank and outer fosse; no visible surface trace of the latter survives. On the brow of a hill in undulating grassland. Known locally as 'Lisclandaid' (Neary 1914, 117, no. 59), it is marked on 1st ed. of OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure (D c. 35m). According to Neary (ibid.), it was a 'circular, earthen hill fort wholly mutilated beyond recognition. Several small holdings converged on the fort'. No visible surface trace survives.
