On the crest of a low hill in grassland. Marked 'Dolmen' on 3rd ed. of OS 6-inch map (1934) and indicated by a small oval enclosure (NW-SE c. 10m, NE-SW c. 5m). According to de Valera and Ó Nualláin (1972, 28), the monument consisted of 'Three stones incorporated in a mound'. All three stones survive; the two larger, which are aligned E-W, are displaced and form a wedge-shaped chamber opening to E, while the smaller third stone, still in situ, is set between them at E. Of the mound noted (ibid.), no visible surface trace survives. Insufficient evidence remains to classify the monument as a megalithic tomb. On a gentle S-facing slope in undulating grassland. Marked on 1st ed. of OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure (D c. 45m) defined by two concentric circles of hachures. What survives is a circular field (D 45m) delimited by a modern-looking drystone wall with an entrance gap at NNE. A number of mounds and hollows are visible externally: according to local tradition, these mark the site of old thatched houses. In scrubland. Poorly preserved overgrown circular cashel (D 40m) defined by a collapsed drystone wall partially obscured by field clearance. In E part of the interior, a roughly rectangular area is defined by large foundation stones and whitethorn bushes. In NW sector, an overgrown hollow was pointed out by the landowner as the site of a 'cave' (possible souterrain). - Cuan Mhuire, demesne walls/gates/railings, 1870–1890, Regional interest, registry number 30407005, https://www.buildingsofireland.ie/niah/search.jsp?type=record&county=GA&regno=30407005. Entrance gateway, erected c.1880, to Cuan Mhuire, formerly Coolanoran House, comprising pair of square-plan cut limestone piers with moulded plinth, moulded panels, coller with paterae and pyramidal pier cap topped with carved stone scrolls and palmettes. Ornamental decorative wrought-iron gates and similar railings, latter on curvilinear cut limestone plinths with chamfered coping and terminating in circular cut limestone piers with moulded bases, collar with flat paterae, and cylindrical caps with gadroons topped by domed finial.
- Cuan Mhuire, house, 1860–1880, Regional interest, registry number 30407008, https://www.buildingsofireland.ie/niah/search.jsp?type=record&county=GA&regno=30407008. Detached three-bay two-storey over basement house, built c.1870, having central breakfront to front (south-east) elevation having uPVC porch to front, canted three-bay end elevations, multiple-bay block to rear of possibly same date, and later L-plan two-storey block to north-east, recent single-storey extension to latter and to rear of main block. Flat roof to earlier sections, with overhanging eaves, two rendered chimneystacks to rear, and cast-iron rainwater goods. Cross finial to L-plan block. Frieze of flat paterae below eaves. Hipped roofs to later block, with gable facing south-east. Hipped roof to recent block. Rendered and painted walls, having parallel limestone quoins to front corners and breakfront. Rusticated ashlar to basement. Segmental-headed windows to basement with vermiculated keystones above openings. Square-headed openings to ground and first floors with replacement uPVC windows throughout, and tooled limestone sills. Pediment to first floor window in gable of L-plan block, and some round-headed windows to ground floor of same block. Entrance porch reached by tiled steps with rendered parapet walls. Set in own extensive grounds with gardens to front.
- Cuan Mhuire, gate lodge, 1870–1890, Regional interest, registry number 30407009, https://www.buildingsofireland.ie/niah/search.jsp?type=record&county=GA&regno=30407009. Detached three-bay single-storey L-plan gate lodge with dormer attic, built c.1880, with gable-fronted bay and gabled porch to front. Now in use as clinic. Two-bay single-storey late twentieth-century extension to north-west. Pitched roof with fish-scale pattern natural slates, decorative terracotta ridge cresting, and stone copings to gable-fronted bay and end gables, with limestone ball and spear finials, and rendered chimneystack over entrance bay. Timber-clad dormer window to rear elevation. Replacement uPVC rainwater goods. Coursed random rubble limestone walls with proud cement pointing, dressed raised limestone quoins, and moulded limestone plinth. Square-headed openings with stone sills, chamfered cut limestone surrounds and having label-mouldings to gable windows and to extension. Replacement timber doors and windows throughout. Set back from road behind curvilinear stone wall with decorative wrought-iron railings, having gardens to side and rear.
