In scrubland and rock outcrop. Described by Cody (1989, 245-6, no. 73) as a poorly preserved subcircular cashel (27.5m E-W; 21.5m N-S) defined by a drystone wall, best preserved from S through W to NE. Due to dense overgrowth all that was visible when inspected in May 1992 was the line of the wall from WSW to NW. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 24 November 2017 - GA096-050: Ringfort - cashel, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CGA096-050----. In level scrubland. Poorly preserved roughly circular cashel (diam. 30.3m) defined by a drystone wall. A field wall cuts across the monument in the SE sector and another overlies it at SW. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 24 November 2017 - GA096-051001: Ecclesiastical enclosure, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CGA096-051001-. On a gentle S-facing slope in pastureland. This poorly preserved subcircular ecclesiastical enclosure (76m N-S; 61m E-W) is defined by a double-faced drystone wall with a rubble core (int. H 0.3-0.8m; ext. H 0.5-1.7m; Wth 1.25m); it is best preserved from W through N to SSE. A field boundary overlies it from E to SSE. A roadway surrounds it from S through W to NW. A gap (Wth c. 6.5m) in the E sector is modern but the inner line of the enclosure wall is evident. A church (GA096-051002-) and graveyard (GA096-051002-) lie in the S half of the interior. Cody (1989, 315-17, no. 139) noted a possible internal radial division, defined by a grass-covered stony bank, in the SE quadrant. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 30 January 2020 - GA096-051002: Church, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CGA096-051002-. Within the S half of an ecclesiastical enclosure (GA096-051001-). This rectangular church (13.3m E-W; 4.15m N-S) is very poorly preserved. The E gable has collapsed and only its foundation line survives. The S end of the W gable remains intact, the rest of it has been rebuilt. Sections of the side-walls have also collapsed. The E and W ends of the N side-wall (H 2-2.5m); Wth 0.7m) and the W end of S side-wall (H 2.2m; Wth 0.8m) are best preserved. No architectural features are visible. There is marked difference in the consturction of the W end of the church, which is built of large, almost semi-cyclopean boulders, and the E end, which is made up of smaller boulders, suggesting the possible enlargement of the original church. Traces of a plinth are visible along the W gable and N side-wall. A graveyard (GA096-051003-) lies to the S. (Cody 1989, 315-17, no. 139) Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 30 January 2020 - GA096-051003: Graveyard, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CGA096-051003-. Within the S half of an ecclesiastical enclosure (GA096-051003-) and associated with a church (GA096-051002-). This graveyard is enclosed by a stone wall. The earliest burials noted date to the 18th century. It is still in use. On low-lying pastureland subject to flooding at the S edge of a small wooded area, c. 15m to the W of a stream. This low horseshoe-shaped mound (7m N-S; 3m E-W; H 0.6m), opening towards the E, is composed of grassed-over burnt stone and black soil (Cody 1989, 158, no. 14). Several large boulders along the NE side may be natural rock outcrop. A second fulacht fia (GA096-055----) lies c. 80m to the SSW. In pastureland to the S of a pond fed by a small stream. Described by Cody (1989, 158, no. 15) as a large oval grass-covered mound (12m N-S; 6m E-W; H 1m), which narrowed slightly at its N end. Though lacking the classic horse-shoe shape he classified it as a fulacht fia. An exposed section at S indicated that it was composed of burnt stone. A small circular grass-covered mound (diam. 3m; H 0.5m), c. 3m to N, may also be composed of burnt stone (ibid.). Another fulacht fia (GA096-055----) lies c. 80m to the NNE.
