At the base of a gentle N-facing slope. This roughly D-shaped rath (50m NW-SE; 45.2m NE-SW), in fair condition, is defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. The outer bank survives from NNW to NE. Several breaches in the inner bank appear to be modern and traces of external stone-facing may relate to 19th-century landscaping. A fosse curving from SSE to SSW in the S half of the interior is also probably related to the subsequent landscaping. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 18 December 2017 - GA100-085: Enclosure, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CGA100-085----. In gently undulating pastureland. Poorly preserved pear-shaped enclosure (83.5m NNW-SSE; 59.6m NE-SW) defined by a bank and external fosse. The bank is visible from SW through W to NW and from NE to E; the fosse survives from S through W to NW. A gap at N appears to be modern. A field boundary cuts across the monument at S and quarrying has encroached upon it at W and NE. Poorly preserved oval rath (48m NNE-SSW; 33.3m ESE-WSW) defined by a bank of earth and stone and an external fosse; the latter survives from NE through E to W. A gap (Wth 2.9m) at SW may be original. A possible house site (GA100-086001-) is associated. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 18 December 2017 - GA100-086001: House - indeterminate date, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CGA100-086001-. Roughly centrally located within the centre of the interior of a rath (GA100-086----). An L-shaped foundation line (5m N-S; 3.9m E-W) may be the remains of a possible house site (wall Wth 1.2m). A parcel is the land of a title, not an address. The owner's name is in the Land Registry of Tailte Éireann: a copy of the folio can be ordered on landdirect.ie, for a fee; this site names no owner. A price is the price recorded for a past sale, not a valuation.
