On a ridge in undulating grassland. Subcircular rath (ENE-WSW c. 30.2m, NNW-SSE 26.5m), in fair condition, defined by an inner scarp, intervening fosse and outer bank from SSW through W to NNW. A field bank curving from NE to SSE may follow the line of the outer bank. Another field bank cuts the monument at SSW and SSE, and no visible surface trace of the enclosing elements survives to S of it. In SW quadrant there is a rectangular grassy hollow (L 6.4m, Wth 1.7m-2.5m) up to 0.8m in depth, its long axis running ENE-WSW; a possible souterrain. A ringfort (GA086-156----) lies 150m to SE. The W half of the monument has been extensively quarried, and a field wall cuts it at SSW and SE. The interior contains a graveyard (GA086-157002-). There is also a possible souterrain, in NW quadrant, indicated by a rectangular nettle-filled hollow (L 10.1m, Wth c. 2.5m) running NNW-SS and averaging 0.7m in depth. Detached L-plan three-bay two-storey house, built c.1800, having two-bay east side elevation. Currently disused. Hipped slate roof with yellow brick chimneystacks. Roughcast rendered walls. Square-headed window openings with two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows and cut-stone sills with internal shutters visible. Segmental-headed opening to front (south) elevation with cut and carved limestone surround having plinths, with square-headed door opening recesed within lobby, having timber panelled door with sidelights having panels to lower parts, and overlights. Cut limestone threshold. Yard to north-east with detached multiple-bay two-storey outbuildings, comprising L-plan outbuilding with three-bay range to south, and multiple-bay range to east end of north elevation. Hipped slate roofs with yellow brick chimneystacks and exposed rafter ends, dressed stone walls, square-headed openings with cut limestone block-and-start surrounds, and segmental-arched carriage arch with cut-stone voussoirs and block-and-start surround.
