In a low-lying marshy area close to a stream. This is a well-preserved subcircular grassed- over mound of earth and stone (N-S 15m, E-W 13.9m, H 0.9m) with a depression (D 3.8m) on NE side. According to local information, it was 'excavated' by Dr T. B. Costello, of Tuam, in 1931-2. Another fulacht fiadh (GA017-113----) lies 200m to WNW. A table-tomb (L 2.3m, Wth 1.9m, H 0.5m) of mass-concrete construction with an illegible inscription and a cross on top is locally believed to be the burial place of a mother and son who died 'of the black death'. Close to the summit of a hill in grassland overlooking the Sinking River to S. Well-preserved circular rath (D 51.5m) defined by a bank and external fosse. No visible surface trace of the enclosing elements survives from SE through S to W. Neary (1914, 111, no. 81) also mentions an 'outer bank, which was about 5ft. [1.52m] on N., [but which] disappears to S', all trace of which is also gone. A probable souterrain (GA017-116001-) is associated. On N-facing slope of a low hill in pastureland. Known locally as 'St Patrick's Footprints', it consists of a heavily eroded earthfast limestone slab (L 1.3m, Wth 0.8m, H 0.3m). A foot-like groove and two other irregular depressions are visible in its surface but all of them appear to be natural. On top of a prominent hillock in rolling grassland. Poorly preserved circular earthwork (D 15m) cut by a road at E and W: no visible surface trace survives to S of the road. To N of it, traces of a fosse and outer bank are visible curving from NW through N to NE, around the base of the hillock. A separate bank runs off the outer bank at NE, following a slightly curved but roughly E-W axis. A CBG (GA017-119001-) is associated.
