- GA085-071: Castle - unclassified, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CGA085-071----. On E edge of a large flat bog. In existence in 1574 when it was in the possession of 'Shane ODaly' (Nolan 1901b, 120). Evidently ruined by 1839 when OS Letters (O'Flanagan 1927, Vol. 1, 468) note 'In Larhagh (Larthach, leathrath) townland, a castle stood, the site of which is still pointed out'. On a gentle S-facing slope in grassland. Poorly preserved circular ringfort (D 38m) defined by a bank which survives from N through E to ESE where a field boundary cuts the monument. The remainder was levelled in 1982 by the landowner (pers. comm. Prof. Rynne). A CBG (GA085-072001-) is associated.
