This natural spring well is delimited by a rectangular line of set boulders (5m N-S; 3m E-W), loosely spaced to allow the water to flow through. On a S-facing slope in pastureland. When initially visited by the Survey in May 1983, this poorly preserved circular cashel (diam. 28.6m) was defined by a collapsed drystone wall except from N to ENE where a shed and concrete yard were built on the line of the enclosing element. Traces of a house site (GA104-199002-) lay in the E sector of the interior. McCaffrey (1952, 240-41, no. 110) noted a ‘souterrain’ (GA104-199001-) and also referred to an oval enclosure, possibly an annexe, which was defined by a ‘wall of mixed earth and stone’ [c. 44m by c. 28.5m ext.]. It extended to the N of the cashel wall. No visible surface trace of these features survived. A revisit in June 1992 revealed that the cashel itself had been subsequently levelled. McCaffrey (1952, 240-41, no. 110) recorded a souterrain in the interior of the cashel (GA104-199----). No visible surface trace survives. Within the E sector of the interior of a cashel (GA104-199----). Traces of a possible house site (10.2m E-W; 6.3m N-S) comprised an L-shaped segment of walling (Wth 2.4m; H 0.3m). In reclaimed farmland. Classified by McCaffrey (1952, 240, no. 109) as a circular ‘Stone fort’ (diam. c. 45m) defined by a collapsed drystone wall with a stone-lined entrance gap (Wth c. 2m) at SE. There was a possible souterrain (GA104-200003-) in the N sector of the interior and five ‘enclosures’ abutted the inner face of the cashel wall. McCaffrey (ibid.) suggested that they may have been modern. Close by to the E, a ‘roadway’ lead to a rectangular house site (L 9.6m; Wth 4.8m).
