Internal diameter 34m N-S, 32m E-W This circular univallate rath is enclosed by a well- defined bank that rises to a maximum height of 2.8m externally and 2.2m above the interior. Two main gaps appear in the bank: one to the N c 2.5m wide and one to the S c 2m wide. In the centre of the interior there is a small depression, 3.6m x 3.6m, and this could suggest the collapsed remains of a souterrain (KE009-045001-) possibly connected to the souterrain remains that were located a few metres E in the same field (1120). The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 336. Situated NE of a rath (KE009-045001-), this site has extensive views in all direction. When visited in April 1987, two mounds of rubble existed in the field. These were originally chambers that had to be filled in due to their causing injury to animals. During April 1986 a third chamber was uncovered which was constructed of drystone walling. It is difficult to give detailed measurements due to the infill, but it would appear to have had a diameter of c. 4.5m and a depth of c. 3m. It has since been closed up, and no surface trace survives. The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Internal diameter 30m N-S, 31.4m E-W Situated one field WNW of 'Lismoyle' (KE009-048----) on low-lying pastureland, this univallate cahir consists of a sub-circular area enclosed by a well-defined bank which is stone lined. This has been covered over by growth and is only visible in places. The enclosing bank rises to a maximum height of 3.2m above the external ground level and 2.2m above the interior. Access to the interior is provided by two openings, one to the NW and one to the SE, measuring 2.4m and 5m respectively. The original entrance may be the opening to the SE which appears to be stone lined. The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Internal diameter 37.4m N-S, 40m E-W Lismoyle/Lios Maol (flat ringfort). Situated immediately SE of a univallate cahir (802), this univallate ringfort consists of a circular area enclosed by a bank and exterior fosse. The enclosing bank is constructed of earth and stone and has a steep exterior side, best seen to the E where it has a maximum external height of 2.9m and measures .9m on average above the interior. The exterior fosse can be traced for most of the site, except from the NW through N to E. Elsewhere it is shallow and flat bottomed, 1.8m wide and .6m deep. The interior, which is at a higher level than the surrounding land, contains possible house and hut sites. Extending out of the interior of the W bank is a curved raised area of .5m; projecting from the rise are the stone foundations of a roughly square site (KE009-048001-), 8.6m x 8m with walls c 1.4m in thickness. Out of the NE corner comes a stone wall which runs N into the bank. The stone wall is slightly curved and touches the interior of the N sector. It measures c 12m long and c 1m thick. In the S and SW sectors there are two small semi-circular mounds curved into the bank, both measuring cl.8m x 1.5m; these features possibly suggest hut sites. The entrance lies to the SE and is c 4m wide. The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. A parcel is the land of a title, not an address. The owner's name is in the Land Registry of Tailte Éireann: a copy of the folio can be ordered on landdirect.ie, for a fee; this site names no owner. A price is the price recorded for a past sale, not a valuation.
