Four sherds of Beaker pottery (representing two separate vessles), decorated with comb impressions, were found in a shallow sub-oval pit during an archaeological excavation (Dunne 2001a; 2003a, 159). A further three burnt in situ pits were also uncovered but the lack of associated finds makes these difficult to place in a definite time-period (ibid.) Post medieval features including a pit, lazy beds and a cluster of stakeholes and post holes were also excavated in the vicinity (ibid.).
