This is marked on the 1840-41 and 1914 OS maps as 'St Colman's Well' (Tobar Colmáin). Situation and Description: It is now closed up and the water piped to Ballylongford. Rounds: No devotions have taken place here in living memory. The well was visited on Midsummer's Eve, and the water was known to cure aches and pains. Legends: A woman washed clothes in the well and it dried up. Folklore collected from Ballylongford School recorded the following tradition about this well; ‘There are two holy wells in the parish of Ballylongford. One of them is Saint Coleman's well, and it is situated in the townland of Ballymackessy about a mile from the village of Ballylongford. Long ago, people visited this well on Saint John's eve and they brought home some of the water from the well, and if they got any diseases during the year they would bathe the diseased part in the water. This well is not visited at all nowadays' (The Schools’ Collection, Volume 0402, Page 075; https://www.duchas.ie/en/cbes/4666580/4663715). The above description is derived from C. Detached five-bay two-storey store or warehouse, extant 1853, on a rectangular plan; four-bay two-storey rear (west) elevation. Disused, 1998. Hipped slate roof with clay ridge tiles, and cast-iron rainwater goods with cast-iron hopper and downpipe. Limewashed roughcast coursed rubble limestone walls with concealed rough cut limestone flush quoins to corners. Round-headed central door opening with red brick voussoirs framing timber boarded door. Square-headed window openings (first floor) with timber lintels framing timber boarded fittings. Square-headed loops (west). Square-headed window openings (first floor) with timber lintels framing timber casement windows behind timber boarded shutters. Set perpendicular to street.

Detached single-bay (eleven- or twelve-bay deep) five-storey gable-fronted store or warehouse, built 1846-52, on a rectangular plan. Disused, 1998. Pitched (gable-fronted) slate roof on collared timber construction with ridge tiles, coping to gables, and remains of cast-iron rainwater goods on cut-limestone eaves. Coursed or snecked limestone wall (east) with cut-limestone flush quoins to corners; part ivy-covered coursed rubble limestone walls (remainder) with cut-limestone flush quoins to corners. Camber-headed window opening (south) with cut-limestone sill, and hammered limestone voussoirs with fitting now boarded up. Camber-headed door opening (north) with threshold, and hammered limestone voussoirs with fitting now boarded up. Square-headed loading openings (upper floors) with cut-limestone lintels framing timber boarded double doors. Square-headed loading opening (top floor) with canopy on timber struts on cut-limestone beaded corbels framing timber boarded double doors. Shallow camber-headed window openings (side elevations) with red brick block-and-start surrounds framing timber casement windows having cast-iron square glazing bars. Interior with timber boarded floors on timber beams on timber posts. Set back from line of street. NOTE: Begun (1846) by William Blair (----) of County Clare but construction was stalled during the height of the Great Famine (1845-9). Work resumed in 1850 and was completed in 1852. The store was subsequently valued at £5 10s. 0d. with St. John Thomas Blacker (1822-1900) named as the "Immediate Lessor" (Primary Valuation of Ireland 19th July 1853).
- M. Finucane, house, 1805–1810, Regional interest, registry number 21300204, https://www.buildingsofireland.ie/niah/search.jsp?type=record&county=KE&regno=21300204. Terraced three-bay two-storey house, built 1806 or 1809, on a rectangular plan with shopfront to ground floor. Pitched slate roof with ridge tiles, and cast-iron rainwater goods on timber eaves board with cast-iron hopper and "barley sugar stick" downpipe. Rendered walls. Rendered shopfront to ground floor on a symmetrical plan centred on timber boarded double doors. Square-headed window openings (first floor) with moulded rendered surrounds framing replacement timber casement windows replacing six-over-six timber sash windows without hors. Street fronted with concrete footpath to front. NOTE: The house is believed to have been built in 1806 or 1809 and an old invoice gives 1836 as the date when a general warehouse was established in the property by Michael Joseph Rahilly (1810-49). The house was originally thatched and, in the course of giving it a "permanent" slate finish, Richard Rahilly (1839-96) uncovered a rafter inscribed "1847". Ellen Rahilly (1835-1903), the widow of Richard, sold the house (3rd September 1898) to Michael Finucane (1860-1942) whose name is still brandished on the shopfront. The house was photographed (1942) by the Irish Tourist Association and given as the birthplace of Michael Joseph "The O'Rahilly" O'Rahilly (1875-1916) [NLI NPA/ITA/696/IV], however, it is possible he was born next door in a house erected by his father in 1874 and a plaque (1966) commemorates 'THE O'RAHILLY BORN HERE 1875 KILLED IN ACTION IN DUBLIN EASTER RISING 1916'.

Archival Description [Demolished 2008]: Detached four-bay two-storey house, extant 1841, on a rectangular plan with shopfront to right ground floor. Disused, 1998. Pitched slate roof with clay ridge tiles, rendered chimney stacks centred on rendered chimney stack having stringcourses below capping, and cast-iron rainwater goods on rendered consoles with cast-iron downpipes. Rendered, ruled and lined wall with rusticated rendered piers to ends; rendered surface finish (remainder). Square-headed door opening with moulded rendered surround framing timber panelled door having overlight. Shopfront to right ground floor on a symmetrical plan centred on timber double doors having overlight. Square-headed window openings (first floor) with moulded rendered surrounds framing one-over-one timber sash windows. Street fronted with concrete footpath to front.
