No surface trace survives of this site, marked sheepfold on the second edition of the OS map. It was located in pasture on a low rise, overlooking Lough Currane to E. This well-preserved fulacht fiadh is located is wet rushy land, on the W side of a stream that flows to Lough Currane. The grassed-over, horseshoe-shaped mound has maximum diamensions of 10m N-S x 9.5m E-W, and averages .5m high. A gap of 2.6m occurs at WSW, and the centre of the mount is a hollow area with maximum dimensions of 2.6m N-S x 5.2m E-W. The stony composition of the mound is easily detected when probed. National Monument No. 380. Calluragh Burial Ground (KE098-029001-): This site is located in poorly drained land, about 130m from the W shore of Lough Currane. It comprises a poorly preserved, subcircular enclosure containing a hut, a stone cross and a cross-inscribed slab. There is no visible trace of the souterrain (KE098-029005-) noted in the centre of the site by Henry (1957, 133). Numerous uninscribed grave-markers occur throughout the site and presumably relate to its use as a ceallúnach. These are particularly heavily concentrated in its S half. National Monument No. 380. Cross-slab (KE098-029002-): This slab stands in the NE quadrant of the site and measures .33m high and .13m wide. National Monument No. 380. Hut (KE098-029003-): Incorporated into the enclosing element at SE are the poorly preserved remains of a substantial circular hut, 4.6m in internal diameter. Its walls are of corbelled dry-stone construction and measure 2.1m wide and up to .7m high externally. An entrance gap occurs at ESE. The interior of the structure is filled with stone collapse and its N half has been modified for use as a lamb shelter. A slab with a small depression on one surface lies within the hut. National Monument No. 380. Enclosure: The uneven interior of the enclosure, measuring 39m N-S x 32m E-W, is raised above the surrounding ground level and is heavily overgrown. It is largely bounded by a much collapsed stony rampart that is faced both internally and externally with coursed drystone masonry. It is best preserved at NE, where it measures 1.1m high externally and rises .6m above internal ground level. It varies between 1.2m and 2.4m thick, and mounds of collapse up to 2m wide abut it externally. The rampart is very poorly preserved at SE and S. National Monument No. 380. This boulder-burial and standing stone are located in gently sloping pasture close to the W shores of Lough Currane. A second standing stone (KE098-034----) occurs c. 167m to SSW. The boulder-burial consists of a flat-topped slab supported on three low stones. The interior of the monument is infilled with field debris, and larger clearance stones abut it externally at E and W. The cover-stone is roughly subrectangular in plan, its longer axis lying ENE-WSW. Its maximum dimensions are 1.8m x 1.5m and it averages .3m thick. The support stones are generally flat-topped and have average dimensions of .7m x .5m and .3m high. In 1988 a single piece of burnt bone was found beneath the cover-stone (NMI 1988:190). Located 13.4m ENE of the boulder-burial is a stout pillar (KE098-030002-) of regular elevation, marked 'Gallaun' on the OS maps. Its NE side displays a sharp inturn 1.45m up from its base, where it measures 1.05m x .8m; ENE-WSW. The stone stands 2.4m high and a number of packing stones are exposed at its base (Ó Nualláin 1978, 98). Henry noted two small 'dolmens' to the W of the standing stone, where she also recorded the ruins of one or two huts and related field boundaries (1957, 132). Internal diam. 23m N-S, 21.7m E-W Lissoven Caves/Lios Uamhain: This much denuded and overgrown circular caher is situated in low-lying pasture on the W shore of Lough Currane, commanding an extensive view across the lake. The enclosing stone wall appears to have been rebuilt in the site's NW sector, and from N to NE the original wall survives only one to two courses high. The wall is better preserved along the site's S sector, where it is roughly coursed and varies from .4m to 1m high externally and from .45m to 1.15m high internally. It is 2.9m wide at SW, where field clearance material has been deposited against its outer face. No definite entrance is preserved. Two souterrain passages (KE098-036001-), running at right angles to one another, are centrally located in the interior of the caher. Access to both is through openings formed by collapsed roofing lintels. An accumulation of fill appears to separate the two passages, but it is unclear if they were originally joined. The first passage is aligned NNE-SSW and is 3.18m long, .7m wide and .7m high. Its walls, of drystone construction, are roughly coursed and have partially collapsed at NNE. Close to this end, the second drystone-built passage extends NW-SE for a distance of 3.75m. It is .8m wide and .6m high and contains a fill of collapsed stone. Measuring .9m high internally and 1.1m high externally, it encloses an area 16.3m N-S x 21m E-W. There are two entrance gaps, 2.75m wide, located at NW and NE.
