In pasture, on a N-facing slope. A roughly circular area (c. 25.5m N-S) defined by a partially levelled bank (int. H 0.6m) E-NNE with an external fosse (D 0.5m) ESE-WNW. The bank is low externally. The interior slopes down to the N and is truncated at NE by a trackway. According to local information, the rath was levelled in the 1950s. It was indicated on the 1846 OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 50m) truncated at N by an E-W field boundary and on the 1897 OS 6-inch map as a roughly circular enclosure (diam. c. 40m) just S of the E-W field boundary and truncated NE-E by a NNW-SSE trackway. This rath is probably one of the three forts in Boolacullane that are mentioned in the 1840s as 'Lissnacrath, Lissoughter, and the other not known by any particular name' (OSNB, Molahiffe, no. 1, 20). There is a standing stone (KE048-086----) c. 90m to the SSE. In pasture, on a N-facing slope. A raised roughly circular area (29m E-W; 24.4m N-S) defined by slight traces of a bank (ext. H 1.5m) W-SE and by a field boundary, which may incorporate the bank, SE-W. Some field-clearance stones have been thrown onto the bank SE-W, making inspection difficult. However, along the S arc the bank is clearly topped by a field boundary (H 0.55m), creating a ledge internally (H 1.4m; Wth 1.1m). There is a possible external fosse along the N and NE arcs. The interior slopes down to the N. The opening to a souterrain (KE048-087001-) is in the bank at W. In the 1940s it was recorded that 'great stones had been used as well as clay in the building of the surrounding rampart' of this rath (Minutes of the Co. Kerry Field Club, 1946, vol. 2, 702-3). This is probably one of three forts in Boolacullane, mentioned in the 1840s as 'Lissnacrath, Lissoughter, and the other not known by any particular name' (OSNB, Molahiffe, no. 1, 20). This may be 'Lissnacrath' fort which was recorded as having a 'cavern' and being a 'few chains North of Lissnaclinna' (ibid.). The rath is said to derive its name from 'Wild Cats which used to be formerly seen there' (ibid.). In a rath (KE048-087----). A stone (L c. 1.2m N-S; Wth 1m E-W), on top of the W bank of the rath covers the opening into a passage (L c. 1m) which extends to the N. A second stone (L c. 0.8m E-W; Wth 0.6m N-S), lying c. 0.25m to the S, slopes down to a further section of the passage (L c. 0.6m) extending to the S. In the 1940s, a souterrain 'just inside the south rampart', was described as leading directly into a chamber measuring '4 feet x 8 feet x 4 feet [1.2m x 2.4m x 1.2m] high' built of huge stone slabs (Minutes of the Co. Kerry Field Club 1946, vol. 2, 702-3). A 'crawl passage of 2 or 3 feet [0.6m or 0.9m]' led into a second chamber which was built off the creepway at right-angles and a further 'crawl passage' at the end of this chamber was noted but not explored (ibid.). Yet another chamber was noted off the first passage but it too could not be explored (ibid.). This may be the 'cavern' recorded in the 1840s (OSNB, Molahiffe, no. 1, 40) in Lisnacrath fort, a 'few chains North of Lissnaclinna'. In pasture, on a steep NNE-facing slope. A circular area (19m NNW-SSE; 18.2m WSW-ENE) defined by a low rise (int. H 0.15m; ext. H 0.4m) SSW-E and by a curving field boundary incorporated into the bank E-SSW. The interior slopes gently down to the NNW. The opening to a souterrain (KE048-088001-) is in the remains of the levelled bank at NW. An ENE-WSW trackway lies immediately outside the SE arc. This is probably one of three forts in Boolacullane, mentioned in the 1840s as 'Lissnacrath, Lissoughter, and the other not known by any particular name' (OSNB, Molahiffe, no. 1, 20). This may be 'Lisnacrath fort' which was recorded as having a 'cavern' and being a 'few chains North of Lissnaclinna' (ibid., 40). In a rath (KE048-088----). A slab-covered opening (c. 0.65m E-W; c. 0.55m N-S) in the bank of the rath at NW, leads into a stone-lined corbelled chamber (1.9m N-S; 1.7m E-W) roofed with a single slab. A creepway (H 0.6m; Wth 0.3m), the walls and roof of which are lined with single stones, extends to the SE from the chamber. An earth-cut passage (L c. 4m; Wth c. 1m) extends to the SE, beyond the creepway. The passage narrows towards the SE end where some collapse was noted. The floor at the SE end is raised by infill. According to the landowner, a slab covering the stone-built chamber was revealed during ploughing in the 1970s and at that time the passage was partially dug out in an attempt to trace it further. In pasture, on a N-facing slope. A circular area (19.5m N-S) defined by the remains of an earthen bank (int. H 0.85m; ext. H 0.2m) SE-NW and by a scarp NW-NE. There is a N-S trackway outside the rath at E. The uneven interior slopes down to the N and was used as a children's burial ground (KE048-089002-). A mound of earth abuts the rath at S. This is probably the rath referred to in the 1840s as Lissnaclinna and which derived its name from its use as a children's burial ground (OSNB, Molahiffe, no. 1, 40). A possible souterrain (KE048-089003-) is associated with the rath. It is indicated on the 1846 and 1897 OS 6-inch maps as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m). In a rath (KE048-089001-). In the 1940s it was recorded that the rath had been used 'till recently as a killouragh for the burial of unbaptised children' (Minutes of the Co. Kerry Field Club, 1946, vol. 2, 702). A number of small humps in the interior of the rath may mark graves but there are no grave-markers in evidence. This possible souterrain was described in the 1940s as two connecting underground hut sites composed of immense slabs of stone which were considered too dangerous to enter (Minutes of the Co. In pasture, on a steep NNW-facing slope. A circular area (30.6m N-S; 29m E-W) defined by an overgrown earth and stone bank (int. H 0.7m; ext. H 1.5m). The fosse (D 0.5m) is overgrown but well-defined E-W and traceable W-E. Gaps occur in the bank at N (Wth c. 0.6m) and NW (Wth c. 2m). A ledge (Wth 1.8m) that occurs outside the gap at NW may be slumped material from the bank. There are a number of eroded gaps through the bank. The overgrown interior, which slopes down to the NNW, is crossed by the remains of N-S cultivation ridges. This is probably one of three raths in Boolacullane mentioned in the 1840s as 'Lissnacrath, Lissoughter, and the other not known by any particular name' (OSNB, Molahiffe, no. 1, 20). In pasture, on a steep N-facing slope. A circular area (30m E-W; 29m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (int. H 1m; ext. H 1.8m) which has slumped slightly to form a ledge (Wth 1m; H 0.5m) along the external face of the bank at WNW. An external fosse (D 0.05m), traceable W-E, has been recut (D 0.2m) along the arc at WNW. There is a probable entrance (Wth 1.7m) at ESE. Three large stones are set at the base of the S side of the entrance. Recent breaks occur in the bank at SW and N. The interior slopes steeply down to the N. There is a roughly circular depression (D c. 0.2m; Wth 1.5-2m) in the N quadrant. This is probably one of three forts in Boolacullane townland mentioned in the 1840s as 'Lissnacrath, Lissoughter, and the other not known by any particular name' (OSNB, Molahiffe, no. 1, 20). This potential feature was reported by Michael Connolly, County Archaeologist, Kerry County Council. It was identified by him during the course of an assessment of a 40 square mile area for the purpose of choosing a road route in 2000 to the north of Killarney. Reported to the Archaeological Survey of Ireland as the low remains of a square enclosure. Access not gained. Young, dense forestry not yet thinned planted within last 10 years across area of potential monument. The area of this monument has been planted within the last 10 years, as per aerial photography (OSi 2005 and 2010). This forestry is young and the trees are densely packed together, having not yet had their first thinning. Trackway (long-axis NE-SW) extends through centre of plantation, however this has become overgrown with briars and access was only possible to within 120m of monument.

Reported to the Archaeological Survey of Ireland as the low remains of a small enclosure. Levelled remains of a circular enclosure (dims. 15m NW-SE; 14m NE-SW) defined by low profile bank (int. - KE048-227: Enclosure, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CKE048-227----. Reported to the Archaeological Survey of Ireland as the low remains of a small enclosure. There is no visible surface trace of a small enclosure at this location. This appears to have been a small pentagonal shaped field, as depicted upon OS 25” and Cassini 6” maps. A small triangular field abutted this field to N, on this mapping. The NW and NE boundaries of the pentagonal shaped field have been removed, as has the NW boundary of the small triangular field. The field drains associated with these boundaries are still evident as linear depressions upon the present ground surface. More recent land drains (long-axis NE-SW) traverse the entire field. These drains are more irregular across the area of the supposed monument and do not form any discernible pattern. However, further analysis of aerial photography has identified the cropmark of a large enclosure at this location, spanning this field and that to N and E. This cropmark is truncated by a tertiary road across the ESE-sector. This is not visible at ground level, except the arc of a potential fosse N->NE, which is evident in the field to N.
