H 1.75m) NW-ENE with trees on top, by a scarp (Wth 2.5m; H 0.4m) SE-SW and by an overgrown bank with several breaks SW-NW. The bank is truncated by a tree-lined linear earthen field boundary ENE-SE. The interior is covered with rushes and slopes down to the N; it is largely obscured by overgrowth and is raised (H 0.4m) at S and (H 1.15m) at N to partially compensate for the hillslope. In pasture, on a SE-facing slope. A roughly circular area (diam. c. 60m) defined by two banks and an intervening fosse (Wth 3.8m). The inner earthen bank (Wth c. 7.4m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 2.2m) is evident all round. The outer bank (Wth 5.1m; ext. H 1.7m) has a berm (Wth 2.1m; H 0.85m) around its internal perimeter. There are numerous breaches in both banks. There is a causeway entrance at E. The interior slopes steeply down to the SE with a break of slope at the centre, which divides the interior into NW and SE halves. A possible souterrain (KE066-032001-) is in the NE quadrant. There are farm buildings outside the outer bank at W and houses to the E and SW. It was identified by him during the course of an assessment of a 40 square mile area for the purpose of choosing a road route in 2000 to the north of Killarney. Reported to the Archaeological Survey of Ireland as one of seven extant fulacht fia. There is no visible surface trace of an extant fulacht fiadh at the location of the co-ordinates provided. It is probable that the co-ordinates have a margin of error, as per other potential monuments visited during the current survey. The potential monument, if it exists, is more likely to be located in an unplanted forestry buffer zone adjacent to N of the co-ordinates provided. This is buffer zone is cordoned off to W and N by a post and wire fence. The buffer zone is defined by forestry to W and N and by a field boundary to E and S. This unplanted area is ungrazed and has become obscured by dense ferns, briars and other vegetation. There is every possibility of a fulacht fia being located within the buffer zone, however, it is been cordoned off and has become densely overgrown. Reported to the Archaeological Survey of Ireland as one of seven extant fulacht fia. There is no visible surface trace of an extant fulacht fiadh at the location of the co-ordinates provided.
