In pasture, on high ground c. 40m W of Caherdean House. A circular area (32m E-W; 27m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 5.65m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 0.5m) W-E and by a scarp (H 1.4m) E-W. Trees are situated at irregular intervals along the bank and the scarp. There are some deciduous trees in the level interior which is occupied by old farm machinery. In pasture, at the base of a W-facing slope. The arc of the bank (min. Wth 0.9m; ext. H 0.95m) of this rath is visible W-SE but is difficult to inspect due to overgrowth. Stones are dumped in places along the bank. A N-S stream is adjacent to the W terminal of the bank. The interior of the rath is covered with overgrowth. Two large stone slabs, lying on clear ground in the N sector, may indicate the location of a possible souterrain (KE058-132002-). This rath is indicated on the 1894 OS 6-inch map as a D-shaped area (c. 20m NE-SW) with a straight SW side (L c. 30m). A well is indicated in the W sector on the 1894 OS 6-inch map. In the 1840s it was recorded that this rath was known locally as 'Lissatobbar from a spring well which is a little to the S. of it' (OSNB, Kilcredane, 17). In a rath (KE058-132001-). A 'Cavern' was recorded in this rath in the 1840s (OSNB, Kilcredane, 17). The landowner pointed out two large stone slabs in a clear area in the N half of the rath which, according to him, mark the location of a possible souterrain. He recalls as a child throwing stones into a cavity under the slabs. The cavity was not visible at the time of inspection. In improved pasture, on a gentle S-facing slope. Reported to the Archaeological Survey of Ireland as the cropmark of an enclosure. No visible surface trace of an enclosure at this location. Levelled remains of low profile, sub-circular area (dims. 12m E-W; 10m N-S) defined by gentle scarp (Wth 5.0m; H 0.5m) is located c. 40m to W. It has been levelled and incorporated into field as pasture. No potential feature evident upon historic mapping and not apparent on modern aerial photography (OSi 2010; Bing 2015). In rough, level pasture, at base of a S-facing slope. Reported to the Archaeological Survey of Ireland as the cropmark of a bivallate enclosure. No visible surface trace of an enclosure at this location. Dense rushes (H c. 0.8m – 1m) growing in this area of the field along entire northern field boundary. Deep land drain (long-axis ENE-WSW) along this field boundary. No potential feature evident upon historic mapping. A potential circular feature is evident upon modern aerial image (Bing 2015), however this was not apparent as any form of enclosure at ground level.
