Internal diam. 35m Lisnaheirka/Lios na hAdhairce: A univallate rath situated on the upper edge of a steep scarp above the Finglas river which lies c. 15m to W. A roadway runs alongside the site at E and section of the enclosing bank in this sector has been replaced by the straight road boundary fence. The bank is a maximum of 1.75m high internally and the external height ranges from c. 1m to at least 4m on the downslope side where it is further emphasised by the steep natural drop to the river. No clearly defined entrance is preserved. The uneven surface of the interior seems to be due to the presence of cultivation ridges, but dense vegetation prevents a close examination. The Co. Kerry Field Club (1939, 17) recorded an 'interesting souterrain' here. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 377. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Lisparkeenreilly/Lios Páircín Raighlí: Situated on a W facing slope which commands an extensive view over the valley that extends S from Camp, as well as across Tralee Bay to the Magharees peninsula. The site is shown on the 1st edition of the OS map as a circular enclosure and it was described in the OSNB (Kilgobban, book 2, 1) as a circular earthen fort. On the 2nd edition of the OS map only the W half of the enclosure is shown. The present remains consist of a level, semi-circular platform defined, on the downslope side, by a drop of 1.8m to the field below. It measures 22.2m N-S and 11.1m E-W across its upper surface. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 661. The precise details of this site are a little uncertain. Situated on the steep E side of Glenfais, with extensive views along the valley and N across Tralee Bay, it is shown on the OS maps as a single 'Gallaun'. However, it was later described as 'an alignment of 3 stones' orientated roughly N-S (Browne et al. 1911, 49). The two N stones, 2.7m and 3.4m long, lay prostrate 3.4m apart; the 3rd stone stood 7.7m to S and was 2.5m high and 1.98m wide tapering to a point at top. The number of prostrate slabs was elsewhere (CKFC 1939, 19 and 1941, 181) given as 3 and 7 or 8. The stones had been broken up and removed by 1945 (CKFC 1945, 576). The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 54. A parcel is the land of a title, not an address. The owner's name is in the Land Registry of Tailte Éireann: a copy of the folio can be ordered on landdirect.ie, for a fee; this site names no owner. A price is the price recorded for a past sale, not a valuation.
