This standing stone is situated in an area of flat bogland on the S side of the Inny valley. It rises irregularly to a rounded top and is somewhat irregular in plan at base, measuring .6m x .68m; NW-SE. It stands to a maximum height of 1.4m. Internal diam. 23.5m N-S, 20.7m E-W This ruined subcircular caher is located in rough pasture at the foot of Coomduff ridge, on its W side. The outline of the site along its SE sector is obscured by a later field boundary. The sod-covered enclosing wall survives to a maximum external height of 1m at S. At W it is only .3m high, and internally it does not rise much above .2m. The wall has a basal width of 2.3m. Internal and external stone facings of large flat slabs can be discerned intermittently. There is no clear evidence for an entrance. A large quantity of stone occupies the interior of the site, some of which, occurring in irregular heaps, appears to be field clearance debris. Traces of a possible hut (KE089-029001-) survive in the S part of the site, represented as a sod-covered arc of stony composition which is 1.3m wide and .5m high. This site is marked as a circular enclosure on the first edition of the OS map. It is located on the N side of Coomduff and affords a commanding view along the Inny river valley. The site is defined by a very slight bank, averaging 2m wide, which encloses an area 13.5m N-S x 15.5m E-W. A number of large flat slabs mark the W side of the bank, which may indicate the former presence there of external stone facing. This stone row is situated on a plateau on the NW slopes of Coomduff ridge, overlooking the Inny river. The tallest standing stone on the peninsula is located 150m to E (KE089-033----). The 8.3m long row consists of three stones, orientated NE-SW, with an outlying monolith 15.5m to SW. The stories of the row decrease in size from NE to SW. The tallest measures 1.9m x 1.4m x .6m and inclines slightly to SE. The second stands 1.2m to SW, and measures 1.2m x .9m x .4m; it inclines towards NW. The third and shortest stone stands 3.8m further to SW, and measures .7m x .5m x .35m. A prostrate slab, 7.6m to S, is largely buried in the ground and its relationship to the row is unclear. The outlier at SW is set roughly in line with the stone row and measures 1.55m x .7m x .6m; packing stones are exposed at its base (Ó Nuallain 1988, 239). Analysing the significance of this monument's orientation, Lynch concluded that it was aligned to W on the S limit of the major lunar standstill (1981b, 26). The above description is derived from A. Internal diam. 26m N-S, 22.6m E-W This rath is located on a plateau on the N side of the Coomduff ridge, overlooking the Inny river valley to N. Traces of an external fosse, 3.4m wide and .5m deep, are preserved around the perimeter of the site. The lower portion of the enclosing bank is of earth and measures .6m high on average. It is overlain by a stone wall, which appears to be a secondary feature. A .6m wide entrance occurs at E, and a modern pathway has disturbed the bank at N. Abutting the base of the bank internally are intermittent traces of a slight fosse which measures .9m wide and .3m deep. This feature may be of recent origin. The above description is derived from A. This standing stone, the tallest in the Iveragh Peninsula, is situated on a terrace on the NW slopes of Coomduff. Standing 4.4m high; its sides rise almost vertically for half its height, then gradually taper towards a pointed top. It is rectangular in plan at base, with dimensions of 1.04m x .42m; NE-SW.
