In rough hill pasture, on an E-facing peaty slope, in a sheltered hollow overlooking the valley of the Flesk River. A horseshoe-shaped mound (11m E-W; 7.2m N-S; H 1.1m) of burnt material with an opening (2.4m N-S; 2m E-W) facing W. The mound material is exposed at SW and at the base along the E arc, where a stream skirts the mound. In rough pasture, on an E-sloping rocky hollow, overlooking the valley of the Flesk River. The remains of a rectangular hut (6.5m N-S; 3.7m E-W) defined by a partially collapsed, rubble stone wall (T 0.6m; H 1.7m) with larger stones visible along the base. The SE corner and parts of the W and N walls have collapsed inwards, obscuring the interior with rubble. There is an entrance (Wth 1m) at the centre of the E wall. The remains of an annexe (2.9m E-W; 2.3m N-S), defined by a grass-covered wall (T 0.6m; H 0.3m), externally abuts the N wall. A rectangular stone structure (2m N-S; 0.9m E-W; H 1m), roofed with stone slabs, is adjacent to the external SW corner. Traces of cultivation ridges are visible on nearby terraces to the E. In rough hill pasture, on a SE-facing slope at the base of a rocky ridge, overlooking the valley of the Flesk River to the SE. The remains of an oval hut (4.5m E-W; 3.2m N-S) defined by the lower courses of a roughly constructed drystone wall (T 0.55m; H 1.1m). There is an entrance (Wth 0.6m) at W. The N portion of the interior is cut (D 0.5m) into the upslope. A large boulder forms the N side of the entrance and a line of stones extends (L 1.5m) to the W from the S side of the entrance. The S wall has collapsed outwards. Rubble from the collapsed upper courses is scattered along the perimeter. The level interior is obscured by ferns. The poorly preserved remains of a circular hut (diam. 3m) visible as a collapsed drystone wall (T 0.7m; H 0.6m) which is partially obscured by grass and ferns. The S portion of the interior is raised (H 0.2m) to compensate for the hillslope. The level interior is strewn with rubble. There is another hut site (KE075-056002-) c. 10m to the N. The remains of a circular hut (diam. 2.1m) defined by the well-preserved, lower courses of a stone wall (T 0.75m; H 0.8m) which is covered in heather. A boulder is incorporated into the wall at NW. There is an entrance (Wth 0.4m) at N. Two other hut sites (KE075-056001-, KE075-056003-) are c. 10m to the S and c. 5m to the NE, respectively. The remains of a roughly oval hut (3.55m N-S; 2.4m E-W) defined by the well-constructed, lower courses of a stone wall (T 0.6m; H 0.7m) which is obscured by heather and moss. There is a collapsed entrance (Wth c. 0.5m) at E. The N portion of the interior is cut (D 0.3m) into the upslope to compensate for the hillslope. The level interior is obscured by ferns. Rubble is scattered along the perimeter. Two other hut sites (KE075-056004-, KE075-056002-) are c. 20m to the E and c. 5m to the SW, respectively. The remains of a poorly preserved, roughly oval hut (3m E-W; 2.1m N-S) defined by the roughly-constructed lower courses of a collapsed drystone wall (T 0.65m; H 1m). Boulders are incorporated into the wall at N, S and SE. The E wall is totally collapsed. The N portion of the interior is cut (D 0.9m) into the upslope creating a level interior that is obscured by rubble. Another hut site (KE075-056003-) is c. 20m to the W.
