The enclosing earthen bank rises to a maximum height of 4m above the fosse and 2.4m above the interior. The enclosing fosse is steep and U shaped; this can especially be seen W through N to E. It is 1.4m-2.7m wide and .8m-3.8m deep. The interior, which is very overgrown, is at a much higher level than the surrounding land.
