Also according to local information, it comprised a circular level area defined by a single earthen bank. It is indicated as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 20m) on the 1893-4 OS 6-inch map. In rough hill pasture and bog, on a gentle S-facing slope, on the E side of a trackway on the lower slopes of Mangerton Mountain. An upright stone (dims. 0.55m x 0.35m; H 1m) triangular in elevation, tilting slightly toward the W and orientated NNE-SSW. This stone is located within the Killarney National Park. In heathland, on the lower N-facing slope of Mangerton Mountain. An upright sandstone stone (dims. 1.07m x 0.3m; H 0.85m), rectangular in elevation and orientated E-W. It is on an old trackway (KE074-032----) leading up Mangerton Mountain and within Killarney National Park. In rough fern and tree-covered pasture, on the edge of a steep W-facing slope, with two large natural depressions on the E side. A subrectangular area (c. 37.3m N-S; 41m E-W) defined by a curving, drystone wall (at W: T 0.55m; int. H 0.75m; ext. H 1.2m; at N: T 1m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1.95m and at S: H 2m) along the N and S arcs and elsewhere by a more linear-type wall. A largely collapsed wall forms the E side, which is in a natural depression. The upper courses of all the walls have a core of mainly smaller stones, which appear to be from field clearance. Larger stones and boulders are used in the lower courses. The entrance (Wth 5m) is at E. The interior is largely obscured by ferns and deciduous trees and slopes gently down to E. A partially collapsed linear drystone wall (L 13.3m; T 2.7m; H 1.4m) extends S into the interior from the inner face of the enclosing element at N. The N end of this wall forms the W side of a hut site (KE075-001002-) and the S end abuts a second hut site (KE075-001001-). Towards the centre of a possible cashel (KE075-001----). The remains of an oval hut (c. 11m E-W; c. 6m N-S) defined by a collapsing drystone wall (T 3.2m; int. c. H 1m; ext. H 1.45m). Oak and holly trees grow in the inaccessible interior. A N-S wall radiates from the N arc, externally. There is another hut site (KE075-001002-) at the N end of this wall. Within NE quadrant of a possible cashel (KE075-001----). The remains of a square hut (4.5m E-W; 4m N-S) defined by a drystone wall (T 1.6m; int. H 1.1m; ext. H c. 1.25m) at the E and S, by the inner face of the cashel wall at the N and by the E face of a N-S wall at the W. Oak and holly trees grow in the inaccessible interior of the hut. The adjacent N-S wall extends to the S where it abuts another hut site (KE075-001001-) which is situated towards the centre of the possible cashel. This possible rath is indicated as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 50m) on the 1894-5 OS 6-inch map. The remains consist of an arc (C c. 15m) of an earthen bank (Wth 0.95m; H 0.55m) WSW-NNW which is respected externally by a modern wall. A recently constructed earthen bank and wall occupy the original SE portion of the possible rath. The interior is level.
