Depicted as a small circular feature (diam. c. 13m) possibly indicating cairn material on the 2nd ed. (1916) OS 6-inch map and named 'Curravarra' (not in gothic script). On the 1st ed. (1841) OS 6-inch map the name ‘Curravarra’ is attached to a possible cairn (KE014-110----) c. 500m to the WSW. In pasture at the top of an ESE-facing slope c. 180 N of a linear earthwork known as the 'Red Ditch' (KE014-017----). When visited in 2000, no visible surface trace was evident. This irregularly shaped stone is situated to the NW of Toberlacken holy well (KE014-020001-). It is a sandstone block, 1.1m x .9m x .6m, with a circular hole in its centre, .17m in diameter and .12m deep. According to the Kerry Field Notes (1939, 25-33), this stone was just dug out of the earth. In the Kerry Field Notes of 1940 it is referred to as a siege stone. The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 1102. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. This is marked on the 1842 and 1916 OS maps as 'Toberlackan' (Tobar Leacan - well of (the) hillside). Situation and Description: This well would seem to have been situated in a circular enclosure (KE014-020004-) on the 1842 map. However, by the 1916 map, very little of the enclosure would appear to be left. Directly behind the holy well lies a complex of underground chambers (KE014-020002-). Possibly this was some type of ancient burial place which was later Christianised by St Lacken. The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 908. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. The Kerry Field Club visited this souterrain system in 1939. The souterrain system lies behind a holy well (908), and today access is gained by stepping over the well and proceeding through a tunnel which leads one into a chamber. The chamber is 1.82m high x 1.2m in diameter and is sub-circular. The main passage branches into two, which widen at several places. The tunnel has collapsed in places and many blind tunnels and nooks exist off the main passage. The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Situated in the fieldbank immediately WSW of Toberlacken holy well (908), this stone is c .41m in diameter and the hollowed out bowl is .17m in diameter by .15m deep. The hollowed end is facing out (Kerry Field Notes, 1939, 25-33). The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. A parcel is the land of a title, not an address. The owner's name is in the Land Registry of Tailte Éireann: a copy of the folio can be ordered on landdirect.ie, for a fee; this site names no owner. A price is the price recorded for a past sale, not a valuation.
