In pasture, on a SE-facing slope. This possible rath is not visible at ground level. It is indicated on the 1846 OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 20m) and on the 1895 OS 6-inch map as a small irregular enclosure (c. 10m x c. 10m). This is probably 'Lissnamucka' fort, which was recorded in the centre of Laharan townland in the 1840s (OSNB, Kilbonane, no. 1, 43). Compiled by: Elizabeth Byrne, Ursula Egan and Sheila Ronan, Archaeological Survey Unit, University College, Cork. Date of upload: 31 January 2011 - KE057-104: Ogham stone (present location), https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CKE057-104----. Six ogham stones, reused as roof lintels, were found in a souterrain (KE057-023001-) in a rath (KE057-023----) in the townland of Rockfield Middle (Barry 1891, 516). Macalister (1945, 239) noted that four of the stones were taken from the souterrain and used in the building of a cottage in the village of Laharan. Subsequently three of the four stones were removed to Lord Dunraven's mansion at Adare (ibid.) where they still are. The fourth was left behind, and 'is now lost to sight'. (ibid., 240). A parcel is the land of a title, not an address. The owner's name is in the Land Registry of Tailte Éireann: a copy of the folio can be ordered on landdirect.ie, for a fee; this site names no owner. A price is the price recorded for a past sale, not a valuation.
