In pasture, c. 100m S of the Killorglin-Fossa road. A circular enclosure (diam. c. 20m) is visible as a shadow site in an aerial photograph (OSAP, 2114) taken in 1989. This rath is not visible at ground level. In the 1930s Capt. D. B. O'Connell noted that the rath was overgrown by trees and laurels but that two 'rings' could still be traced (SMR file). This suggests that the rath was bivallate. Compiled by: Elizabeth Byrne, Ursula Egan and Sheila Ronan, Archaeological Survey Unit, University College, Cork. Date of upload: 31 January 2011 - KE066-059001: Ringfort - rath, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CKE066-059001-. On the N side of a pathway, on the NW shore of Lough Leane. This rath is indicated on the 1846 OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m). The present remains consist of a roughly semicircular area (dim. c. 14m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 1.7m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 0.8m) W-ENE and incorporated into the field boundary system. A linear scarp (H 1.4m) formed by a pathway (WSW-ENE) defines the straight side at S (L c. 32m). The interior slopes down gently to the S. In the 1930s Capt. D. B. O'Connell recorded that the southern half of the rath had been 'destroyed by the erosion of the cliff...over the Lake' (SMR file). A bullaun stone (KE066-059002-) is 1.5m to the S. This is probably one of the two raths recorded in the 1840s in the SW end of the townland (OSNB, Aghadoe, no. 1, 46). Compiled by: Elizabeth Byrne, Ursula Egan and Sheila Ronan, Archaeological Survey Unit, University College, Cork. Date of upload: 31 January 2011 - KE066-059002: Bullaun stone, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CKE066-059002-. On a steep slope on the NW shore of Lough Leane, 1.5m S of a rath (KE066-059001-). An irregularly shaped glacial erratic stone (diam. c. 1.7m E-W; H c. 0.7m) has a circular bowl-shaped hollow (diam. c. 0.35m; D 0.17m) on its upper surface, to the NE of the centre. Towards the centre of the stone are four thinly incised lines (L c. 0.3m), three extending NW-SE and the fourth E-W and crossing the SE end of one of the diagonal lines. Two crosses occur to the SW of the lines. These lines were recorded in the 1930s by Capt. D. B. O'Connell who suggested that they were the result of 'scores made from the sharpening of pointed metal weapons' (SMR file). Compiled by: Elizabeth Byrne, Ursula Egan and Sheila Ronan, Archaeological Survey Unit, University College, Cork. Date of upload: 31 January 2011 Works at or in relation to a recorded monument need two months' written notice to the National Monuments Service (National Monuments (Amendment) Act 1994, section 12). ## Architectural heritage (National Inventory of Architectural Heritage) - Lakeview, house, 1860–1880, Regional interest, registry number 21306611, https://www.buildingsofireland.ie/niah/search.jsp?type=record&county=KE®no=21306611.
